Anybody can get me a CreationKit.ini file?

Hey guys,

I've been away for a while and only installed FO4 CK yesterday using Bethesda.net launcher. But whenever I try to launch the CK, it opens briefly and before loading any data at all, it freezes then crashes my whole PC to blue screen.I searched the Internet for similat issues and potential fixes but could find nothing that helps.

I checked my GPU driver of course (nVidia GTX 980) which is perfectly up to date - and Fallout 4, Skyrim and Skyrim's CK run without a hiccup on that rig anyway.

But my CreationKit.ini file is wildly incomplete and stops after the [Papyrus] section, on line "sAutoFillNamespaceDefault5 = "MyMod05" - which sort of makes sense since the program never was able to initiate.

I also noticed that in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher\Logs, the file LauncherLog.Previous.log displays this line near the very end of it:

Encountered Corrupt File CreationKit.ini

My rig's spec if it helps:

Intel Core i7 - 4 cores

16 Gb RAM

Win 7 pro pack 1 - 64 bits

nVidia GTX 980 - 3GB VRAM

Microsoft.NET Frameword 4.6.1

All my games and CK's are installed on a separate Hard Drive (D) and Fallout 4 CK has been properly installed in the SteamApps\Common\Fallout 4 folder. FO4 Scripts have also been properly unzipped. Only Bethesda's launcher is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher folder (where there's no "games" folder by the way, but I'm not sure there should be such a folder there since every game is installed on another drive).

Since I'm in France, I also added the line "sLanguage=fr" at the top of the [General] section of my CreationKit.ini - to no avail anyway.

So I was wondering of any of you could help me understand what's going on here - and/or if someone had kept an initital version of his CreationKit.ini tha you could share with me so I can at least try and get rid of the "corrupt File CreationKit.ini" error.

Many thanks in advance guys!..

I might suggest that you go to your Steam Account and verify your game files.

From my canned response:

1.Load Steam.
2.From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3.Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache button.
4.Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5.Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

Important: One or more files may fail to verify.

This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message.

This should fix it for you.

start the beth launcher, login click on the ck icon, under option do validate files, if any file is corrupt the launcher should replace it(if ck files are corrupt and or missing), it will not replace any other file ck only

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I finally solved it.

It was in fact my system files being at fault. Even though my GPU drivers were detected as updated by nVidia, I checked them all one by one in their appropriate folders and finally noticed that one nVidia .sys file was dated way older than the rest of them. So I uninstalled my GPU drivers and reinstalled them anew - and this time they all updated properly. I guess some of these auto-updates hadn't been installing properly, or one Windows update messed up with them...

I haven't been making many attempts yet with F04 CK, but at least I can launch it and previews do display without crashing now.

The only strange downside which followed was that, on launch, both Skyrim and F04 reset all my settings to... low!.. I manually set them back to ultra and high as they were before and both games run as fine as they did before.

Again, thanks for your help, guys :)
