damanding
Apparently Friffy has recently removed her mods from the site. The snappable "Just Rugs" mod was probably the best mod on this site with rugs for settlement building. The trend of mod authors removing their works makes me really sad. I can understand why so many are frustrated with rampant mod theft, terrible everything on Bethesda.net, and overly demanding, entitled mod users but it still breaks my heart to see another mod author give up and quit. :( For those who want to prevent future heart ache, something I began half a year ago was to download all mods manually to a secondary hard drive then use the install from file feature of either NMM or Mod Organizer. You don't have to install the mod manually that way and you have an untouched backup version of the mod in a separate location from your mod manager of choice. Thankfully as a result I'll be able to continue using Friffy's mod (though I can't and won't share it with others because I respect the mod author's decision). If you need more detailed instructions on how to maintain your own personal backups of mods please ask.
genolune
And to add to that, we discussed in the mod authors forum that 7zip is the best compression tool to use and .7z files will give you the best compression. I wish I had known that before packing all my mods in .zip files. All those gigabytes!
damanding
Well I have a few terabytes of local storage at home. And a fair amount of cloud storage. So I can store a lot of mods. :D
Ethreon
Even NMM downloaded mods go into an easy to find folder. I use it as a folder for easy retrieval.
damanding
Even NMM downloaded mods go into an easy to find folder. I use it as a folder for easy retrieval.Yes but if you're anything like me, you regularly install, uninstall, start new games, try new things and it's too easy to forget to backup a mod that you're uninstalling. :D By saving all mods to a separate location first I don't have to remember to back it up later. StarMystyk
That's unfortunate :( All her mods? I'd not known about the rugs (wish I'd gotten that earlier), but I do have her curtains. I haven't used them yet but they are on an external drive where I shove all my FO4 stuff when I need space.Even though one of my mods was recently stolen and uploaded to Beth.net (PS4) I won't remove or hide mine here.In the past the only reason I've hidden any was due to updating the mod(s) and overhauling the page and one wasn't working properly so I hid it to try and fix it. It was hidden for over a year then I deleted it as my attempts at requesting help resulted in others taking the mod and concept, then re-uploading it (without asking). I guess if anyone has the time and patience they could learn how to make snappable stuff (surely there's a tutorial out there). I'm learning something completely different so have no interest in that right now :)
damanding
I'm actually now thinking of doing a snappable rugs mod at some point in the future. Stuyk has a great tutorial on his site on snap points. Ethreon had one up but I can't find it anymore. Edit: Yes the curtains mod is gone too. :( Edited December 16, 2016 by damanding
kitcat81
I don`t really understand what is going on here and why mod authors panish every single mod user. I never thought of the internet as of a safe place...I mean...everything can be stolen here. My film subtitles were stolen a few times and without help of any Bethesda net. I would probably be upset if my mod got stolen, but how in the world deleting it from Nexus can change anything? Very confusing.
AGreatWeight
Whilst it's unfortunate (I only tried her curtain mod myself) and we'd all rather it didn't happen, it is her right to remove them (as it is any mod authors right to do with their content as they please)It could be for many reasons, and not strictly because of mod theft (although Just Rugs has been taken and uploaded to another site without her approval) but that's not the point. It's not about "punishing mod users", that argument doesn't wash. Mods are a privelege after all, not a right.Whatever her reasons for taking her mods down, I wish her well.

The thread itself tells about it. And for me it seems that it`s possible that accounts of some authors were stolen. I can`t imagine that I would put a lot of efforts into something and then just delete it without any comments. This is the same as to throw your whole work away, mod without users is not a mod anymore, it just goes to non existence.
