Vanilla Game Stutter

Recommended Posts

Even in vanilla, I have a FPS of mid 30's to low 50's. I realize I have an old system but I was wondering if there are any suggestions/settings I could make. I do plan on upgrading but it will take several months before I can. Since I am on a fixed income I was wondering where I should start first.

Hi.

Stick to 1 and 2K mods as much as possible. Stuff like mountains and bigger objects try to get 1K versions for those.

Also try this trick with the tree animations:

This is a very helpful ini. setting tool: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4875/?

Set the godrays to low or disable them. And set shadows to medium.

You're welcome. Well, with that processor I think that the best choise is what you allready have if your GTX 960 is the 4 gb version that is?

If you get an I5 or i7 processor + a cpu socket compatible motherboard for it. You will have a lot more choises for a better gpu. ( A GTX 1070 for example ). Though the GTX 960 is'nt a bad midrange gaming gpu in any way.

The Intel processors, will also remove any bottleneck present for the GTX 960.

Asus and Gigabyte have some nice Intel motherboards btw.
