I put up the horse and the weight bench at Home-Plate and Cait very carefully moves around them to sit here or there. She doesn't react to an - invisible- push up rug but walks right over it. Perraine Posted January 22, 2017 Share Posted January 22, 2017 I think there are some "tags" associated with that equipment (and many others). Probably only those in the "settler" faction will use them. Try dismissing your follower in a settlement that has one and see if they will interact with it then. Urtho Posted January 23, 2017 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Must be playing a different game, the first place I look for a dismissed companion in a settlement is the exercise equipment. They're always using it in my experience, even when actively following you and they do that short wandering around you looking for idles or furniture to use.
