Body replacer setup help

I have been using cbbe and have been wanting to try unp body for a while now.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the correct download order and what mods I need for both bodies? I want to make sure I'm doing everything right with both so whichever one I choose to stick with will be set up correctly.

I haven't had any issues with my cbbe just asking more experienced modders how they set these bodies up. I do use hdt on my cbbe body and don't know how that works on unp. Links to up to date tutorials are appreciated to.

Thank you in advance

First of all, the "classic" UNP body and also the different physics options for it, that come as separate mods, are practically outdated. Nowadays, if you want UNP, the way to go is "bodyslide" and its UUNP body variants.

Switching to UNP (or rather UUNP) is'nt that hard:

- Uninstall CBBE.

- Download bodyslide: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49015/?

- Install it with a mod manager, during the installation process choose UUNP options. Now you have UUNP meshes (HDT and non-HDT) for all the different body shapes UUNP has to offer.

- Next thing you need is a UUNP compatible body texture. CBBE textures won't work. For the beginning, I'd suggest Fair skin complexion: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51602/? IMHO a good starting point. OFC, that's all a matter of personal taste. Look around, try different textures, see what you like.

- Last step is to update your HDT setup for UUNP. If your're lucky, you can still use your CBBE HDT settings. If they don't work, you will have to install a HDT setup taylored to UUNP. Something like this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72030/? OFC there are other variants - some here on the Nexus, some on Loverslab. In any case - follow the installation instructions to the letter. Since you already managed to get CBBE HDT working, you should also be able to achieve that with UUNP, too. It's the exact same process - just with a different base body.

- Now you're ready to go: Build a body of the type you want in bodyslide. That's it.

Let me warn you though: Changing the body replacers is the easiest and fastest part of it all. The real time sink starts, when it comes to armours: You will have to uninstall most of your CBBE armors (practically everything showing some skin) and get UUNP armors instead. Not a difficult or challenging task OFC - but a time consuming one. If you want a bunch of excellent armours to start with, I'd suggest these: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75861/?

Thank you for the helpful response. I have bodyslide already for cbbe so it should be okay to just reinstall and pick the uunp options right? I'm actually trying to set up the uunp body right now using a second NMM profile to see if I like it and can get it all to work. Is the base body for uunp better than the skinny one as in more variety of sizes? I read the description of each just wasn't sure. I don't want to have a huge bust, but I don't want to look like a teenager if that makes sense. I know you can change the weight, but didn't know which one provided more size options.

I was using SG female texture renewal for my cbbe so I think I'll just switch to the unp version since I know how that looks in game.

I was actually looking at that armor set. I like how it adds armors to the game play and isn't centered on the forge. Makes it more fun in my opinion.

Yep, reinstalling bodyslide with different options will work. Making a backup of your personal presets for CBBE (CalienteTools/Bodyslide/slider presets) and even moving them somewhere else might be a good idea. Reinstalling bodyslide won't delete your presets, but it can be confusing to have CBBE and UUNP presets at the same time. Unfortunately you can't include your bodyslide settings in an NMM profile (or at least there's no way I know of). While working with different profiles in NMM is a great idea, you will have to change your body slide setup.

UUNP doesn't only have one base shape, it comes with (almost) every somewhat popular variation of UUNP, including Sevenbase, UNPB, Oppai and what else there is. You can choose among all these different base shapes and tweak them to your liking. So, UUNP offers more versatility than CBBE. The "classic" UNP shape (which of course is also included) might be what you're looking for. At least it can be tweaked to a shape as you described. Is it "better"? UUNP has more polygons than CBBE and offers more variation. But "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...

BTW, if you (like me) don't want Skyrim's women to look like teenagers, you can try this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32986/? IMHO a great and quite "immersive" texture replacer.

Have fun!
