There is a popular file naming past-time at the moment to try and start file names with a number, or the letter "A" so it shows higher on the previously alphabetically listed category pages and search results. Personally I think that's a bit dicky. Name your file based on what it does, and not on where it would be in an alphabetical list. But whatever.

I've changed the default sorting method for the category pages and search results to be by upload date, descending. So the newest files uploaded (note: new files, not updated files) will show first.

In the not too distant future we'll be adding a default sort date option to your user preferences, so you can decide what sorting options you want to display by default. So if you tend to always change the sorting options to "last update" or "endorsements" then it will default to those options for you. That's something to look forward to.

So now I don't have to adjust that part every time I search?? :woot:

...Of course, it kind of makes Latest Files lose some of its usefulness now...
