My first experience with Frito chili pie was in New Orleans on Canal Street in 1960. It was 25 cents a bowl and i became addicted.Since then i've tried other ways to make it btw it's very good with crushed spicy Doritos.I like to lay down a layer of corn chips, a layer of cheese then a layer of chili repeating the process until the bowl or baking dish is full. It's wonderful...

I can't even find one video that makes it like i used to purchase it at this little hole in the wall in New Orleans. The way they made it was it four layers, they crushed the Frito's slightly then added a layer of cheese then a layer of chili on and on for four layers with a thick layer of cheese on top. They put all the ingredients together then baked it.It was wonderful and that's the way i still make it.
