Hi Everyone,

Before you begin to Read, sorry for my English

I Have a Problem that occured the second time to me

and i dont know how to fix it other than Installing Fallout 4 new with my mods,

but i dont want that cause it can happen a third time

so i want to know why it happens and how to fix or prevent it from occuring. I Searched for someone with the Same problem but no one has it like me ;( or i didnt found him/her with the same Problem

My Problem occured while i still played, the Game CTD (Crashed to Desktop), Iam playing on Fullscreen Lowest Quality possible for best Performance

when i tried to play again, by clicking on F4SE exe it always starts the Steam Launcher, dont know why.

My Real Problem is that if i click on the Play Button Steam Launcher disappears for some seconds then Appears again without even going into the game, i even Tried the Steam Launcher, the Launcher starts but after i Click on the Play button it happens the same as mentioned, Launcher disappears for some seconds and Appears again.

I cant get into the Game

Solutions I Tried:

-GPU newest driver

-F4SE_loader.exe, f4se_1_9_4.dll, f4se_steam_loader.dll renewed

-Newest Mods Deinstalled, after that All Mods DeInstalled, after that Nexus Mod Manager Deinstalled not working,

-Tested for Problems in Steam,

-Tried everything listed together not working

-Only Solution that worked: Deinstalling and Deleting Everything from Fallout 4 and the Mods and Installing it Anew, but the Problem came after some time again as i already Mentioned.

In the Images below, you can see what my pc can and what mods i have.

I have Installed Steam Fallout 4 under:

C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 <in my SSD to make it faster

I Have F4SE:

Fallout 4 Version 1.9.4
Version 0.3.0
i put it into C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 <where the Exe from Fallout 4 is

Fallout4Custom.ini:

D:\Benutzer\Dokumente\My Games\Fallout4

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal= <nothing after "=", but something keeps coming that i always delete (if someone has a Solution for that too, please write it down)
Fallout4.ini:
sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

Thanks for your Posts/Solutions you will be bringing me

  • 2 months later...

Just had this happen to me. Forcing a re-install and re-download when using F4SE launcher. As yet I have not isolated what causes this.

1. Launch game with F4SE.

2. Normal Game Launcher gets activated instead of loading into the games main menu.

3. This continues in a loop and I'm unable to start the game through F4SE.

I'm re-installing now.. will update this later if I find a solution.

One possible issue, I'm thinking my problem was launching the game in online mode after I had cleaned some of the main game files, which got detected forcing a re-download of all the game files. I'll need to make sure I'm only in offline mode next time, though I'm not sure why F4SE launched the games launcher...

I've been playing FO4 perfectly fine for the last week without any problems, running upwards of 200 mods (mostly petty stuff), but like you Narius I am being forced into the original loader on a loop. I f you press play then it just reloads the FO4.exe load page again. Steam hasn't pushed any stealth updates on me that I am aware of, and F4SE hasnt been updated!!

The last thing I want to do today is sit here reinstalling my FO4 - it was bad enough doing that a couple of weeks ago having to do the same for Oldrim when something happened on that :(

I had similar problems. The best I could figure was that I uninstalled a mod without first using a chem station to craft a required chem to do a cleanup in-game first. I ended up doing a clean install of Everything. I created a separate folder on C: drive outside of program files and installed everything there. I avoided the programs folder because of UAC funtions that make many folders read only. I also had to re-edit my perf and .ini files, I also had to add the FOSE files into the Fallout 4 folder, I for got that and spent an hour figuring out that mistake. I'm not sure, it might have been Homemaker_Expanded Settlements I uninstalled incorrectly although I had several that needed the chem station fix to delete successfully. Hope this give you an idea of where to look.

Folks what I found to work in the end was to first VERIFY (or whatever it is that STEAM calls it) your files by openning Steam - right click on the named game - scroll to the bottom and go to properties - in the LOCAL FILES section click on "verify integrity" ........

I ALSO had to restart my PC a couple of times as well and make sure F4SE hadnt left any old .exe laying about! Oh, and I also went through my Steam settings and made sure FO4 wasnt playing in online mode LOL

That gave me a solid 4 hours gameplay uninterrupted last night :)

Reading through old postings yesterday, this seems to be a pretty common solution to this one - hope this helps.
