Need Help Diagnosing CTD's Outside Cities

So I had some serious issues with mods prior to this, but after some muddling around I managed to get the game working (or so I thought). I played up to level 4, used the outlaw start from live another life, went to dawnstar, took the ferry to windhelm, and upon trying to leave windhelm I CTD'd at the exit of the bridge. I then spent several hours fiddling with which mods were installed/activated but nothing I tried seemed to fix the issue. I just CTD every time I exit windhelm. So I reinstalled all my mods, hoping it was just an issue with the one city. Played some more, traveled to whiterun, and just as I'm approaching the hill...CTD.

 

I'm at wit's end here. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and double checked so many mods and I have no idea what's going on. I need help figuring out if something in my load order is incompatible, or in the wrong spot, or what's happening.

 

Note: I have used TES5edit to clean the files (at least of the references and ITM's, not the nav meshes), and I use LOOT to sort the load order.

As an addendum: my computer specs are AMD Athlon x4 860K quad core processor, 64 bit windows 8, AMD Radeon R9 380 graphics card. I have the Legendary Edition game version, fully updated. I'm using the latest SKSE. The game is installed in the normal steam directory on the secondary hard drive on my computer. I use NMM to install all my mods.

Immersive creatures has caused similar problems for me in the past , that may be the cause.

Also use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43773/? Audio overhaul and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54387/? Immersive sounds instead of Sounds of skyrim. I remember reading about sounds of Skyrim having some issues with it so that could also be the cause.
