Mod Request for Child of Atom

I think a neat mod would be a revamp of the Children of Atom, like there are mods for revamps of the Minutemen, Gunners, and even synth institutes. I think like if you gave some of them capes or gas masks, that'd be cool. Just an idea. Let me know what you think! Edited June 3, 2017 by AndrewRuegsegger1

I'm currently editing existing factions, like Scavengers or the Forged, to equip them with unique gear. But I don't think Children will be one of them, cause they wear so many outfits. Maybe I'll add gas masks from "Special Raider Gas Masks" mod, but this will be later, I'm busy with other stuff.

 

I could tell you how to make changes to Children of Atom using the Creation Kit though. It's not that difficult, even if you're a beginner.

 

Just go to Actor/Actor/HumanRace, find EncChildrenOfAtomTemplate00 (you can type it in filter window), double-click, now you can edit the base template of the Atom worshippers. Now under the "Inventory" tab, right in the middle is the "Inventory" dialog. These actors have only pipe guns. So right-click "New", add the object and right below there's a dropdown list, change the object to "LL_Caps_Change_50" (or 25 or 15). Now you have added 50 caps to their inventory.

 

But I'm not sure about gas masks. It's funny, cause looks like they don't use any. I think you need to go to Items/LeveledItem section and single-click "LLI_ChildrenOfAtom_Clothes" to rename it (or right-click and "rename"). Change the name from "LLI_ChildrenOfAtom_Clothes" to "LLI_ChildrenOfAtom_ClothesHats" and click "yes" to create a new object, instead of just renaming. Now open the new object and you see list of the Children of Atom clothing. So delete all of them and add some headgear instead: click "Add", then from the dropdown list select a different item, like "Armor_Gasmask" for example. You may change "chance none" to 50 if you want only half of generic worshippersto wear headgear.

 

Now the last thing: go to "Items/Outfit", open the "ChildrenOfAtomOutfit", you already have "LLI_ChildrenOfAtom_Clothes", so add "LLI_ChildrenOfAtom_ClothesHats" as well. I'm sorry, I'm afraid you have to to it by dragging and dropping, but you'll figure out how to do this. Now save it, run the game with this plugin and see if it works. I hope I didn't miss anything.
