Tulaketh
Hi folks, I recently tried to start playing Fallout 4 again but for some reason I am getting random drops in my frame rate. These drops can drop me down to literally 4 fps. I have looked on the net for fixes and to to find out what to do. I have disabled vsync & capped the framerate to 60fps, lowered my settings (I previously had most setting on ultra with no issues) nothing has helped & I can't see if any of my mods are responsable. So I have come here hoping someone with a greater understanding of this stuff can see something I am missing. My pc specs are as follows; Processor (CPU) - Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-4690 (3.5GHz) 6MB CacheMotherboard - Gigabyte Z97-HD3: ATX, LG1150, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBsMemory (RAM) - 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X FURY DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (1 x 8GB)Graphics Card - 4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 970 - 1 DVI, 1 mHDMI, 3 mDP - 3D Vision Ready1st Hard Disk - 240GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW)2nd Hard Disk - 500GB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD5003AZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)DVD/BLU-RAY Drive - 24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAMPower Supply - CORSAIR 650W CS SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIETProcessor Cooling - Super Quiet 22dBA Triple Copper Heatpipe Intel CPU CoolerSound Card - ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)Operating System - Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit w/SP1 - inc DVD & Licence This is my current load order;Fallout4.esmDLCRobot.esmDLCworkshop01.esmDLCCoast.esmDLCworkshop02.esmDLCworkshop03.esmDLCNukaWorld.esmUnofficial Fallout 4 Patch.espDLCUltraHighResolution.esmArmorKeywords.esm (AWKCR)HUDFramework.esmSettlementKeywords.esmSpringCleaning.esmDamage Threshold.esm (Tougher Virtibirds)SimSettlements.esmTrueStormsFO4.esm (Wasteland Edition)Armorsmith Extended.espArmorsmith Automatron.espArmorsmith Far Harbor.espArmorsmith Nuka World.espArmorsmith Vault-Tec DLC.espBetterModDescriptionsLite.espRaiderOverhaul.espImprovedBoS.espBetter Armour & Weapon Naming - All DLC.espBetter Armour & Weapon Naming - Far Harbour.espBetter Armour & Weapon Naming - Automatron.espBetter Armour & Weapon Naming.espBetterModDescriptionsAE.espRebuilt_HomePlate.espSuperMutantOverhaul.espRedWaveReloaded.espWET.esp (Water Enhancment Textures)SettlementAttacksBeyond.espBostonAirport_WorkshopFix.espBrighterSettlementLights_LongAndSoft.espBOS_X01_Paintjobs.esp (Brotherhood of steel X01 paint jobs)Campsite.esp (Simple wasteland camping)Campsite-AWKCR.esp (Simple wasteland camping)Combat_Helmet_Illumination 1.2.espCraftable Armor Size - Fix Material Requirements.espCraftable Armor Size.espBetterModDescriptionsCAS.espBalconySupports.esp (Craftable Balcony Supports)DD_Floor_brace.esp (Craftable Floor Supports)DD_Columnsandstuff_1_0.esp (Craftable pillars & support braces)DDP_Ramps_mark1.esp (Craftable ramps & rails)Crafting Workbench.espCrafting Workbenches - Automatron DLC.espCrafting Workbenches - Faction and Quest Requirements.espCrafting Workbenches - Power Armor.espCrafting Workbenches - Pre War and Manufactured.espCWSS Redux.esp (Craftable working showers sinks & showers)dinomore.esp (Dino's decorations)dinoshelf.esp (Do it yourshelf)EasyHacking.espEAMR.esp (eyewear & mask retexture)Fallout 3 Flamer x2.esp (fallout 3 flamer damage & range)FilledBrahminFeedTroughs.espCrimsomrider's Transparent Cleanroom Suit.espFriendlyRadstags.espGrognaksCostumeSlot56.espHuntingHood.espImmersiveVendors.espImprovedBoS-Automatron.espSettlementAttacksBeyondFH.espImprovedBoS_FH.espIP4APA.esp (Institute paint for all power armors)NoVanillaRadiantDLCLocations.espSPECIAL40.esp (Legacy fallout settings SPECIAL points)LegendaryModification.espBetterModDescriptionsLMSurvival.espLegendaryModification - DLC Far Harbor.espLevelCapOptions.espLockpicking 101.espLongerPowerLines3x.espMinigunDamage.esp (Minigun damage increase)Minuteman_CB.esp (Minuteman combat armor)MMP4APA-blue.esp ( Minuteman paint for all power armors)Evan_Modular Kitchen.espOK Guard Posts.esp (More guard barricades)Movable Power Armor.espNightPerson.esp (Night Person activation tweak)Vertibird Alt Fix - Far Harbor.esp (Personal vertibird altitude fix) PiperArmoredCoat.espBinoculars.espBetterModDescriptionsROWIP.espRepaired Roofs.esp (Repaired sanctuary roofs)RRP4APA.esp ( Railroad paint for all power armors)salvagebeacons.espVertibird Alt Fix.esp (Personal vertibird altitude fix) BetterJunkFences.espSC_ExpandedScrapList.esp (Spring cleaning)SuperNaturalEyes.esp3pMeleeTweak.esp (third person melee tweak)Tougher Vertibirds.espGhoulishOverhaul.espUseful Security Helmets.espVault-Tec Workshop Overhaul.espVisibleWeapons.espMy_Minutemen.esp (We are the Minutemen)Crafting Workbenches - Ammo.espCrafting Workbenches - Ammo Special.espWild Fruit Conversion v1.21.espWeaponsOnBack Addon.espFriffy_Holstered Weapons.esp10mmSMG.espTrueStormsFO4-FarHarbor.espTrueStormsFO4-GlowingSeaExtraRads.espTrueStormsFO4-FarHarborExtraRads.espTrueStormsFO4-EarlierSunsets.espTrueStormsFO4-EarlierSunsetsFH.espTrueStormsFO4-NukaWorld-FH-Compat.espYou Talk Too Much.esp=1DarkerNights.esp=1DarkerNightsDetection.esp=1BetterSettlers.esp=1BetterSettlersMortalPack.esp=1BetterSettlersNoLollygagging.esp=1strong_PA.esp=1strong_PA - AWKCR.esp=1SurvivalOptions.esp=
MightyZ0G
it could be Raider Overhaul
Zzyxzz
Those random frame drop are related to super mutant overhaul and raider overhaul. I've made a replacement esp for Raider Overhaul, its in the installer of my Better Locational Damage mod. It fixes the frame drops. I haven't fixed Super Mutant Overhaul yet. Probably doing it some day....

Probably doing it some day....Hi, I decided to remove raider overhalu and super mutant redux but nothing has changed. I am still getting really bad random frame drops. Most of the time it occurs during combat, but not limited to it. One question, I can see th last main patch for pc was released in November 2016. Do mods for Fallout 4 need to be updated after a patch? Edited June 21, 2017 by Tulaketh
snapper69
DLCUltraHighResolution.esm has been known to cause a few problems. I stopped playing a few months back, Don't Call Me Settler messed up my game, but it was still playable. Then I followed a quest into Nuka World and I had chronic stuttering and frame rate drops. When I left Nuka World, my previously smooth game was awful with stuttering and frame drops in the main game as well.

Its better to use http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3747/?Quality is much better. the HighResDLC is an overkill
