Try saving the mod files (put them somewhere else) and uninstall Kotor and reinstall it. Try playing without the mod and if the crash is still happening see if you have everything updated (firmware etc.) If you don't have enough room and this might be causing it to run slower you can try deleting unneeded files of other things. I'd try to run it without mods first and see if the ship is still crashing the game on entry and if it's not try looking for a similar mod or look at the mods bug reports to see know issues of the game.
