Radio Station Mod - Music under copyright doubt

Howdy! Well, A few months back, I've posted my radio station mod on nexus but it was removed due to music that is still copyright.
The problem is, while creating the mod, I've followed several videos / guides about creating a radio station mod and I was not warned about something like that.

Well, Ik its the fair thing to do, but then I was told that "one way around this is to get the users to source the music files themselves, just tell them what to name them and what format to use". Well, maybe because English is not my native language, I couldn't understand what does that mean. Could someone explain me how this is exactly done? Or if there is another way to reupload my mod correctly without doing that procedure?

Huge thanks!

"One way around this is to get the users to source the music files themselves, just tell them what to name them and what format to use" is equivalent to "Tell the user to download the music files for themselves so that they are the ones breaking copyright, not you. Give them the name and location of the music so that they can find the files easily."

Got it. So, would it work if I uploaded the mod again but without the songs folder, and then I give the users a link to download that folder in Mega for example, so they could install it manually in their New Vegas main folder?

Thanks.

(Obs. The songs folder I mean is the "radioRMCA" here: http://imgur.com/a/MlscC)

If you are steering them towards a particular song list ... I would avoid doing that imo. Or just use copywrite free music.

But the low tech vs would be to , just insert messages telling them to start their disc player / Radio ... LOL

Your basically dabbling in mod tools with this ... and if you went to far could be helping to pirate ... But if the song selection is their choice , and assuming they own the songs through user agreements already. I see no reason that would stop you from attempting to help people customize their own radio station. But then that is a different thing I suppose ?

Work in a technical sense, yes. In an ethical sense in terms of absolving you / others of copyright infringement, no.

Basically you are trying to avoid getting the blame for copyright infringement. And the only ethical way to do that is either purchase a license for the music you want to include in your mod or use different music that isn't under copyright. Trying to subvert copyright / blame by giving out a link for the user to download the mods themselves in your mod description / ReadMe isn't going to fool the Nexus moderators. They will likely still remove your mod because you are encouraging piracy / copyright infringement.

Unless you are the creator of the copyright work, you have no rights, permissions, or authority to republish, distribute it to anyone else, or create derivative works. No matter how you might want to wriggle around it, any way you obtain the work does not confer those rights unless the author explicitly says you have them or the work has fallen out of copyright. And no publisher will grant them, as it's taking money out of their pockets. They have to vigorously defend their rights or they lose them, so smart organizations like Nexus won't run the risk of expensive lawsuits even if you are willing to do so. Please read the short version of "Copyright Infringement" on Wikipedia.
