Skyrim Wins: Brutality

Guys... :(

I can't take it anymore... I want to love this game, and a large part of me really does, but a girl can only take so much of having to fix it every few hours. I've lost many days off from work not playing this game, but fixing it. And it's always the same: fix one thing break another. Everything is a bandaid and what worked miracles for others either did nothing for me or destroyed the game altogether.

I understand modding a game is asking for trouble. I get that. I also understand that done correctly, it really isn't all that bad. I've had a very stable install before, and I broke it by removing scripts. Lesson learned. But I have NEVER been able to obtain such a stable install ever again. Not with SKSE's memory fix (makes female characters faces black using CBBE), not with CrashFixes, SafetyLoad, nothing. Nothing can make this enjoyable for me anymore.

I have SSE, but I'm not playing it without the mods that makes Oldrim such a unique and beautiful experience for me. I will wait and see if SKSE64 ever makes it and when HDT and all of that other good stuff comes to fruition.

Yes, I am perfectly aware that hardly anyone will care how badly defeated I feel. I've only spent 3 years fighting this with the "I can't give up' attitude. Well... my blood pressure has gone up considerably, and my attitude is changing. All of these troubles from this one game have had a drastic effect on my personality.

"Wow Kanori... just don't mod it then" Sure, but the vanilla game is broken enough, and modding is a form of art to me.

I'm not uninstalling Skyrim but I also won't touch it any more.

I don't want my Nexus profile removed but I will not return.

To the few great and wonderful friends I made here... thank you so much and I will see you on Steam! Everyone else... goodbye...

If you haven't left yet, I would like to help you. 3 yrs is a long time to struggle for a stable game! In the past when I get frustrated with Sky, I quit playing for awhile and then come back. Funny thing is that I had all but given up too when the work I had put into my game started to pay off. I now can say with confidence that my game is stable after 200 hrs. I have posted my load order in another thread if you are interested. Anyway, Cheers and good gaming!
