Skyrim Special Edition - No player voice or shouts

I am having an issue where I cannot hear the shouts in Skyrim SE, it's been a long time since I have played skyrim but I'm pretty sure there should also be player sounds when taking damage which are not there either.

I have come across a few solutions to this problem, however they are for the original Skyrim not the Special Edition:

Specifically:

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/876289-help-no-voice-in-skyrim/

Suggested fixing the .ini file, however in the SE "Skyrim - Voices.bsp" has been renamed to "Skyrim - Voices_en0.bsp" and there is no "Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsp" in the program files.

What I have tried so far:

- Disabling any mods I have installed.

- Completely reinstalling the game.

- Deleting .ini files and letting launcher rebuild them.

Please note that no NPC voices or any other audio is missing, just those of the player.

Camrox, did you ever find a solution to this problem? This has just started happening in my game. The only solution I can find is to move my game to my C drive, but this is unsatisfactory to me as I've always installed Steam and all my games to my D drive and this has only started happening now. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Should anyone stumble over this page in search for a solution like me again, follow the steps that are discribed here. Just exchange the "Skyrim - Sounds.bsa" with your "Skyrim - Voices.bsa" (maybe called slighly different based on language):

Hi guys,

I worked out my solution to this problem. I have my Skyrim installed on a different drive than my OS, thus resulting in a total no sound for weapons and voices of my Character.

The easiest fix to this problem is to cut the Skyrim - Voices.bsa & Skyrim - Sounds.bsa and paste them into your OS drive.

Then you make a virtually linked object into your original data folder from where you get the files mentioned above.

You'll need Link Shell Extension for this. https://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html

Once downloaded and installed just right click your files on your C drive, select the Pick Link Source option from the menu and go to your data folder.

Then you right click into your data folder, and click on Symbolic Link. After that your game should be running fine. Note that you must CUT not COPY the files.
