*I Like* in most games our characters are always

too dumb to carry a bit of rope with us.

*I Like* in most games we often can not even climb

onto something that is only waist high.

*I Like* that I have reached a point in my life that

the beeping sound a microwave emits when

done warming things up no longer bothers me.

*I Like* that it's been a long time since I got "road rage"

but I now get "road amusement" instead....

I believe I may have found today's thing for Striker to Like!!

This has all the earmarks of an acquired taste, but surely one worth acquiring!

I like seeing people on two sides of a debate having a friendly, considerate discussion.

I like taking winter walks around the streets before sunrise and watching the world slowly lighting up.

I like discovering new ways to look at old thoughts.

I like working together on meaningful projects with enthusiastic people.

I like when a recipe you were unsure about trying turns out just right.

*I Like* that at a Society for Creative Anachronism

gathering years ago, having met Katherine Kurtz,

an author of 16 books. Since she was camped

right next to me, I managed to spend some time

with her. When she was about to return home,

she asked me who my favorite character in the

the Deryn series was. I told her "Rhys Thurin".

She then asked me how I spelled my name. I

told her Malachi. She responded with "I prefer

the Irish spelling".

In three books he as active in, his name was

Rhys Thurin. In the fourth book in the series,

he had died, but on his burial vault, the name

inscribed on the cover was "Rhys Malachy Thurin".

I know she did that for me. My minor claim to fame....
