Sanctuary Hills: "My" Home, so stay out

Hello. If you settled in Sanctuary Hills, you probably set up camp in your "Pre-war" Home. If so, you must have had your fair share of Run-ins with the local settlers. Settlers sitting in your living room. Settlers walking into your bedroom and casually sleeping in "your" Bed. Not coming out of your House, because some idiot settler blocks the door. Those and some more.

Now here is what i would love to see. Either a way to keep those pesky Settlers out of your House(if they have nothing in there assigned to them) or a seperate House with a loading screen(But if so, i would appreciate it, if there was a Cellar and you could assign at least two to three people to it. I'm planning for Piper, Nat and Shaunt to join me in there) , which you can customize like a village, crafting stations joined with Sanctuary Hills(Maybe an unchangable, invisible supply line.)

Hope there's someone who can relate and make this.

Edit: Seems like i wasn't completly clear. I meant the ruin of your former house, not the old, with mods repaired house.

i can relate- and also hope some folks have ideas

on how to prevent NPCs from being in that area of Sanctuary.

I'd like to turn the survivor's house into a 2077 "mausoleum/memorial"

and have it be demolished and replaced by a holographic house...

with perhaps the holo-emitter being 'on the fritz' and malfunctioning sometimes hehe.

perhaps the hologram changes color depending on the time of day, rather than a static eerie blue-white.

perhaps, with a family-statue or large plaque out front.

I'm thinking of putting it in a proper geodesic dome, so it's like a "bottle city".

perhaps there's a 'museum' adjoining it too.

I'd also like to tie that to the quest;

"The Trial of The People v Vault-Tec, Inc"

where the player witnesses the posthumous trial, and execution, of the Vault Tec execs recovered at boston.

I'm working on that hehe. I don't want bystanders to go anywhere near the 'sacred acre' of the memorial.

and, I'd like the rest of Sanctuary to become quite developed, like Freeside or Cucamongas AFB.

it's become something of a topside slum Favela

v111 in my continuity, is a large BoS mega bunker facility, like Maxson,

a "techno-mage castle" of sorts.

and Red Rocket north concord has eclipsed Sanctuary entirely.

V111 connects to Under-Sanctuary and on to Basement Red Rocket Spa and Resort North Concord.

you can access the Under Sanctuary from that house with the bunker near the cul-de-sac,

and eventually, the cul-de-sac tree itself will be replaced by a large institute style or greek-rage 'scrap elevator' style elevator platform...

you'll be able to see part of the warehouse/BoS facility below. it may even be the proper vertibird platform...

currently, the cul-de-sac tree is a giant 'night-light' blinking light feature, with light bulbs and christmas lights strewn from it.

i digress;

there's a few things you could do.

I can offer a few kludges as workarounds until a proper mod emerges.

you could place a series of forcefield wall pieces around the house, the AI can't path to it as they're collision or not nav-meshed/variable nav-mesh.

however, you can get to it, if you press the button on the wall and have the keycard. they can't.

if the forcefield animation is invisible, then you still retain that effect,

while having your white picket fence pre-war look uninterrupted.

you could place a superstructure around the house, say a geodesic dome, scrap-scraper etc, and use other positive navmesh stuff as a wall around it.

they'll path around and over it, but not to it. especially if you place a 'no collision mesh/navmesh' invisible tile beneath the ground there,

and only put floor tiles or stepping stones with a gap from the forcefield...

you could use any door to any where, and path to pre-war sanctuary new lands,

which'd be settler free. have a dome or scaffolding exterior, with an entry decon tent or 'fumigation tent',

then path to prewar sanctuary hehe.

you could use Memory Den Virtual Holodeck as your any door to any where doorportal,

to path again to pre-war sanctuary. perhaps even a separate instance of a pre-war new lands sanctuary itself.

there'd be no settlers, and you can have your companions with you.

this settlement is only accessible from the memory den,

so you'll never be sent to protect it by Garvey, and only folks who are with you or dismissed to it can be there.

that's where my 'pre-war' world is, narratively,

it's couched as a simulation/holodeck of the past.

or, rarely, as a flashback/new lands or ghosts hehe.

-----

If you combine any of the above with SMB92's brilliant War of the Commonwealth v2

it should prevent NPCs/aggressors also from spawning in the house.

I had a quick search for doors on the Nexus and found this and this

there are probably more, but I couldn't be bothered to keep searching after 2 hits :D

edit to add that Easy Homebuilder has a player only bed

Yeah but i would like Piper to still be able to exit and enter "our" Home. Would like to let Nat and Shaun in too. So those three wouldn't really work the way i want them to. So thanks for the Comment, but it didn't really solved, what i would like to have solved

the way the beds work in easy homebuilder, you could assign the other side of the bed to Piper.

make sure all the other settlers are assigned to beds of their own and keep sandboxing furniture to a minimum in your house and you should get some privacy ;)

I find that a level 2 or 3 bar/restaurant with a karaoke mic keeps settlers busy when they aren't working :)

Sorry to shoot you down like that, when you're trying so hard to help, but i would like to keep my interior to a certain level. Didn't even salvaged the kitchen area. So i would like to avoid emptying my house.

Also, i don't seem to have the addon for the karaoke mike. Maybe it's in the ones on my wishlist.

Also, i already wanted the "seperate dimension" Hills Home, when i was playing on the Xbox(borrowed). (Thought the settlers stole my railway rifle, Started going through every settler, after putting my cryolator somewhere safe)
