iXenite Posted September 10, 2017 Share Posted September 10, 2017 Assuming that the GPU is a GTX 980M, and you have the quad core i7 processor then it should be pretty decent overall. It's a bit dated I suppose, but the GTX 980M was always the best mobile GPU of that GPU generation. It has since been surpassed by the latest mobile chips that do (for the most part) match their desktop counterparts - but it should serve you just fine. If you could give me the full specs though, then I could provide a more accurate assessment as I'm not really that sure if I know what you actually have. OrangeSkull49 Posted September 10, 2017 Author Share Posted September 10, 2017 Specs: Processor- Intel Skylake Core i7-6700HQ CPU, quad-core 2.6 GHz, 3.5Ghz turbo Chipset- Intel HM170 Video- Integrated Intel HD 530 HD + Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M 4GB Also honestly the most modern games I'd even bother playing on it are Doom 2016 and Fallout 4. However, it's my understanding that DOOM doesn't have quite as much performance as would be expected for a GPU like yours. However, it should still be playable. iXenite Posted September 14, 2017 Share Posted September 14, 2017 It should play Fallout 4 on Ultra just fine. Just be aware that Fallout 4 is a really poorly optimized game and there will be parts of the game (mainly the areas around the city) where the performance falls a lot. Even really powerful rigs will run into these problems - it's really just the poor state of the game. But in general you should be able to hit an average of 60fps with Ultra settings. I would suggest getting the optimized texture mods, shadow boost, Godrays disabler, and BethINI if you want to try and optimize Fallout 4 a bit more.
