I'm designing FO4 projectiles and I'm stumped

I was inspired by the World of Fate mod that changes projectiles into existing objects that have a velocity. This was awesome but not good enough for me and my desire for realism. I plan to mix this in with Modern Firearms and hopefully that More Calibers mod so it can just be compatible everywhere.

This is a big dream for a first mod. Literally for the past week I've neglected homework to learn the basics of blender, GIMP, nifskope, the Creation Kit, and the Material Editor. This has been a mental nightmare and there are some things I wish I could just know. Over time people learn things, and I'm hoping to get tips and help on how to not crash FO4 because I used a path leading to the same file or something stupid. I'm not aware of someone making a completely new projectile because Weapons of Fate just steals the stuff from the VATS .308 with some modification. Almost every rifle uses the .308 and that bothers me.

Does anyone know a general estimate of converting speed in the Creation Kit setting to actual ft/s? That's a big one because bullet velocity is going to be a big thing in this too. Heck, I'm going to take real pictures of bullets and try to give a nice, realistic look to them. I was an armor piercing .308 have a black tip as VATS goes with it as it blows someone's body to pieces. Hollow points will be meshed to actually have a hollow point.

Previously using these other mods that add bullets as projectiles had a serious issue with collision. The .308 would hit an invisible barrier at the end of the barrel. Any ideas on what can cause that? Another thing would be projectiles easily colliding with objects when you're supposed to be shooting over or around something. That REALLY got under my skin. VATS was always stupid when it came to hitting crap 6 inches off of every object in existence. What can I do to mitigate this?

"projectiles easily colliding with objects"

Unless you want to remake the way collision behaves in this game, that will remain an issue, totally unrelated to weapons. The collision for those objects is correct, the engine extends it outside for some reason.

That coding is above my head right now. There are some things I'll take risks on but I need to take some classes on scripting. I have a coworker that referred me to a website that will supposedly help me tremendously. We shall see. What experience do you have with modding?>
