hello everybody at the nexus  I've seen a lot of mods out there that include different versions Eddard Stark's Valyrian Steel sword ICE but iv'e been on the search for his Longsword that he uses in the show. If anyone could make this sword it would be greatly appreciated! I tried to make my own version, but I know absolutely nothing about creating custom meshes/textures so it didn't work out so good LOL... I will upload a few photos of the sword here. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this post, HAPPY MODDING!!

It's a fairly classic, realistic design. Instead of looking for a specific replica, try the weapons added by Warzones. Widowmaker, Ravenbrand, Tormented and Wrath Greatswords (really longswords) all come to mind as being somewhat similar. Some of them also swing pretty damn fast, giving them much more of a longsword feel: the Wrath Greatsword is particularly good, and it's my sword of choice over anything daedric.

There's also a slightly similar, beautiful-looking greatsword/longsword buried in the Aurlyn Dawnstone mod that I might dig out and throw in my own tweak mod as an upgrade for my Wrath. Can't remember the name, and that mod is 1 GB...

And FrankFamily, a longsword is a two-handed weapon.

Jeez, why people have the need to be a smartass I really don't know. Yes, of course a longsword is mainly a two handed weapon, I haven't said otherwise. Ice is humongous, so by comparison that one is like a little brother. If a Ice were to be made into a mod it would be a two handed weapon and if this were to be made also it would make sense to make it as a one handed for the sake of variety.

Spending a small fraction of one post politely mentioning a fact, one you have to admit I had pretty good reason to imagine you might quite reasonably not know, and one that a LOT of people don't know on account of D&D, isn't being a smartass.

As an aside, my preference would definitely be for such a sword to be correctly categorised as two-handed! Exceptionally long-hilted one-handed swords in games are ugly as hell, almost as bad as the "longswords are one-handed weapons" myth. Also, the faster longswords added by Immersive Weapons (and the Warzones weapons that are clearly longswords despite the name) are really fun.

All of the things you said (I have to admit I did NOT read everything since I cannot stand listening to people that love to hear themself speaking) doesn't change the fact that you could actually wield the sword that's shown in the picture with just one hand. So FrankFamily is right with BOTH things he said.

Let me just point out the following:

"[...] kind of like a one-handed ice" This is the literal quote, lets keep it in mind.

Note the "kind off", why do you think I wrote that? Maybe because it is not a one handed ice in the literal sense? You asummed a great deal of stuff about me based on that sentence and decided to teach me that bit of knowledge, that is being a smartass.

Now, yes "official" sword terms are used incorrectly very often by people that dont know about the matter. Same as chemistry terms are used almost always wrong by people that dont know about chemistry (from experience) but if I were to correct them I would be a smartass, dont you think? Theres no myth of longswords being one handed. Theres simply longsword being used with different meanings, which happens very often when words of a particular field of knowledge go to the wider public. And theres really no need to correct that because it happens in every single field of study. For some reason sword enthusiasts get triggered when someone uses a term wrong...

The end goal of words is to convey a meaning to the person you are talking to: if you are talking to a D&D dude is just easier to refer to swords in a way he understands even if its "incorrect" so the communication is effective; If you are talking to an expert on the matter use proper terms or you'll look like an idiot. If you make a game you call the items what your target audience will understand and find logical.

A request on the nexus is unlikely a meeting of sword experts so being precise with sword terrminology is unimportant, and after all we are talking about a game, so its irrelevant if a longsword is technically a weapon largely used with two hands or not. In the vast majority of this community a one handed sword is largely understood as something smaller than a two handed one and longswords are just long swords, generally one handed, leaving the term greatsword for two handed ones. And yeah, you could actually use that sword with one hand.

And regardless of all that, all I said is that for me it would make to implement this ingame as a one handed version of Ice because from my experience, thats what the majority of people will actually want.
