NMM mods not working for me.

Hi, I know others have posted things like this and I have read and watched A LOT on it. But nothing anyone tells me to do seems to work.

I am using some of the mods that can be enabled within the game now from the menu screen, but then I have CBBE running from NMM and it never seems to work.

What is going on with Nexus Mods and fallout 4? Is there a simple way to get this all fixed? Fallout4 is awesome but Fallout 4 with mods is incredible.

Any help appreciated.

1. is your game actually set up for modding. as unlike skyrim, you have to actually add some settings to enable modding for fallout 4.

 

 

Enabling Modding for fallout 4

 

 

1. go to --> C:\ Users\ Your Computer Name\ Documents\ My Games\ Fallout4

 

2. in this location, Create a new Text Document and call it: Fallout4Custom

 

3. In Fallout4Custom Add this Below:

sResourceDataDirsFinal=

4. Now click on Save As - for the File Name Call It: Fallout4Custom.ini

4a. For the Save As Type: click on all Files

Now for CBBE: CBBE Must be Setup Correctly, which means you are also going to Want Bodyslide and Outfit Studio (As CBBE wont really do anything on its own, it probably does, but i have never run cbbe on its own, i always create my preset and build all outfits to my custom body preset, thus i always run it along side Bodyslide and Outfit Studio) - Note: i do know CBBE applies high poly models for all female npc, but what i mean by not doing anything is, for example, the outfits wont automatically be adjusted to a particular cbbe body (in other words all female npc will still have vanilla body, but again i dont know if just by having CBBE that all females will now have that body type, even though the outfits would not be adjusted to it, however i could be wrong of course, as mentioned above, i have never only had cbbe, as both CBBE and Bodyslide and outfit studio to me are classed as 1)

1. Download Bodyslide and Outfit Studio, then when you have it, Make sure the File Paths are correct, meaning it is pointing to your Fallout 4 Data Folder.

1a. Basically the Folder Path you will want for Bodyslide and Outfit Studio, will be this --> C:\ Program Files (x86)\ Steam\ steamapps\ common\ Fallout 4\ Data <-- (assuming you are using windows 64bit and both fallout and steam is installed in the default location)

2. now simply select your desired Body Preset (Adjust the Proportions if you want) and once you have your desired preset, simply click on Batch Build to adjust all outfits, to your cbbe body preset, wait for the Bodyslide to finish batch building, and now, CBBE will be Setup (note all of this part assumes you are only using the vanilla cbbe outfits, and not any custom skimpy armor mod, or any armor mod that has cbbe support)

2a. now when you go in game all female npcs, including your female character, will now have the vanilla outfits made to their body

as for a simple way, the only way to make it simple is if you understand what is causing the problem in the first place, however even then it probably wont be simple. modding is not suppose to be simple, its a game in itself, a game that the majority of us enjoy, me especially. and problem solving is actually pretty good as well, you not only learn about the game much more in depth but you also increase your knowledge and intelligence, which is far better that actually playing the very game you are modding lol. i spend way more time installing mods, then i do actually playing the game. done the exact same thing for skyrim, 90% was modding the game and testing, 10% was actually playing game, and this translates to over 3k hours, so 90% of that was not even playing the game. xD

honestly if modding was simple, it would not be fun at all

i dont understand what you mean by that above, does that mean you are using mods from Bethesda.net, Creation Club, or Steam ?

I think you have solved my problem. I had CBBE and bodyslide and everything installed the first time I played Fallout 4. I used it and had it all running fine. But this time I just installed CBBE by itself with the curvy preset and thought it would use that generic model for the body and that was all I needed. I didn't want to spend much time this time on body modeling and just wanted to get through the game. But once I started playing again I started to remember how much fun I had with the modding and wanted to do it again. (I'm like you, I spent more time playing with mods the first time around than I did actually playing and never finished the game. haha). I hate that all the women in this game look like 12 year old boys. So I wanted to change that. I think what I did wrong this time is not redo all the clothing. So the clothes are making it look like CBBE isn't working. I will go ahead and download bodyslide and outfit studio and get everything going again and see if that doesn't fix my problem. Since I am choosing the "curvy" preset, but not configuring the clothing with outfit studio, I guess the CBBE curvy model doesn't show up.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me as the prescribed .ini already exists... Oh, well... Back to the drawing board.

I did all that, but it still did not work. The way that I got mine to work was by copying the CBBE.esp file at the SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Fallout 4/Mods
