DLCs missing when using mods

Does anyone have a solution for all DLCs completely missing when using mods installed via NMM?

I'm using Origin on Windows 10. All DLC content is showing as installed in Origin, however in-game they're completely missing. I'm logged in in-game too, and my account has all the content linked to it.

I've tried pretty much everything I could find that was recommended here and from other searches, so am at a loss about this now! Thought someone else on Origin might have an answer...

Hi Sarah. Did you figure why the DLC's kept vanishing when you installed your mods? I was curious since I just seen your post and it's been a while.

Hi Angela - nope, never resolved it. I played through the base game and uninstalled everything. Reinstalled and without mods the DLCs functioned again. I haven't tried modding again to see if the same thing happens yet.

Did you have to start a new game? I've tried removing all my mods and starting from an area like Flemeth's hut (before you receive all the quests) to no avail.

I could honestly live without the DLC if I didn't lose Shale :ohdear:

NMM does not play well with DAO. It can't handle many types of mods at all, and can have trouble with others.

I'm on Win10/64-bit and have all the DLC (Ultimate Edition). I typically run with anywhere from 30 to 80 mods of all kinds installed. (Although I've realized I'm starting to cut back on the number I use.)

I recommend a fresh start. Cut-Paste your "\override" folder somewhere else, (like the Desktop), then do a complete un-/re-install. Lastly, re-install your mods manually, one-by-one, according to the author's instructions.

Good Luck!

P.S. Let us know how you get on.

I did a complete reinstall/mod removal, and I'd want to try running a new game without any mods and seeing if the DLC content shows up, but afaik the DLC content (soldiers peak/shale/etc. not the inventory items) only show in your journal after you get to Flemeth's hut, or Lothering. This would be a fair bit of gameplay - going through an origin, ostagar and the wilds - all without any skip fight or skip ostagar mods, and it might not even work.

Does anyone have any character save games I could test, ones with little or no mods?

And as I've just tried to start a new game, completely free of mods, first time running the game, it crashes after selecting a female pc, any class/race and clicking next. The issue isn't there if I play a male pc. Really confused here.

Should have just tried to deal without having the DLC I guess. Now I can't even play

And the game doesn't recognize that I have any DLC at all. Ooof this is fun

Right. Now the DLC shows in the main menu, shows under content that is downloaded, but it still doesn't show up right in the Journal - only Soldier's peak shows up, every other story DLC is blank

Before the DLC didn't show up at all in the Installed Content, now it is, but it still doesn't show right in game/journal (blank) and the game still crashes when I create a female character.

Honestly, if anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it. I cannot figure out why this is happening, or why I never had any of these on my old laptop, with lower specs, MORE mods (the game is clean/has no mods on the new computer that I'm running into all these issues on) and running Windows 8.

Hoo-kay...

  • First, did you uninstall all the mods in NMM, (and maybe uninstall NMM itself while you were at it?)
  • Second, did you cut-paste the contents of your "\override" folder somewhere else and make sure there was NOTHING at all left in that folder?
  • Third, did you disable ("uncheck") all the unofficial items in the "Downloadable Content" menu? (Note: "A Tale of Orzammar" is not official DLC, even though it was produced by BioWare staff.)
  • Fourth, have you used any other mod manager besides NMM and the built-in DAUpdater? (I prefer DAMM, but that's me.)

If you've done a full un-/re-install of the game itself, then it's got to be a mod (or more than one) that's causing the problems.
