For all the people coming here because Skyrim SE updated yet again from version 1.5.16 to 1.5.3.

Use "download_depot 489830 489833 3146230552641174659" in Steam console to download SkyrimSE.exe version 1.5.16 so you can replace the new one.

Need another updated versionID, Steam just did it again today. Better yet, how do we find these version IDs?

Hi, I just worked this one out - The version ID is the "MANIFESTID", and you can see a history of all of them at steamdb. Here's the page for the SSE.exe: https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/manifests/

So for the most recent version that's compatible with SKSE64 (which is 1.5.23), you can use 7780040377772731640

Tried it just now and got the right file. Hope this helps!

I was playing fine yesterday, today I couldn't launch SKSE64. I found this thread. What is the console download code to get the last version of the SkyrimSE exe file before 8/28/18? I have downloaded and tried three of them already, 1.5.16, 1.5.23, and 1.5.3, none of them worked for me:

download_depot 489830 489833 911281757511576655
download_depot 489830 489833 7780040377772731640
download_depot 489830 489833 3146230552641174659

I am currently running 1.5.50 and SKSE64 is 2.0.7

"You are using a newer version of Skyrim than this version of SKSE64 supports. If this version just came out, please be patient while we update our code. In the meantime, please check http://skse.silverlock.org for updates. Do not email about this! Runtime: 1.5.50 SKSE64: 2.0.7"

I checked the site and re-downloaded what was available and it didn't fix it which is why I am looking for an older .exe file. Is there a list somewhere that I can see versions and downloads or versions and the console commands? Any help would be great, who knows when silverlock will update it. For the future I have already changed the option to not allow automatic updates, but I still can't play right now. Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I fixed it myself. I found what I was looking for here: https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/history/ this gives the numbers for the change to 1.5.39. I used this command to get the file that worked for me: download_depot 489830 489833 1298692161422189837

For the people who auto-updated, you can downgrade your version:

Press Win+R, and paste this: steam://nav/console
On steam, type: download_depot 489830 489833 1298692161422189837
On your folder: steamapps\content\app_489830\depot_489833
Copy the downloaded EXE in your skyrim folder.
Done.

Thanks for the instructions.

Definitely works!

However, the only thing I can think of is that this fix requires Steam to be in offline mode, otherwise this one needs to re-run this fix every time the Steam Client are launched.

And that will disable the ability to take a screenshot in-game via Steam. Of course that's not a problem for WB users, not sure how it is for users of NMM or MO though.

Hello,

Im user of the last MO2, and after following the instructions, all work verry well.

Strangely, i have found the downgrade sent by Steam near my ancient skyrim SE path, after copy and replace the new exe, all is good.

Thank you verry much for this useful help :)
