I'm more or less at the end of my rope trying to get my modded Morrowind to work right now. On new game, the moment game loading is done, I get this, amidst many other minor texture errors:

Script YAC_CH_Startup
Trying to RunFunction index greater than function count
The script will not run anymore.

I'm using both MWSE and MWGE XE, with internal MWSE disabled. Using Nexus Mod Manager, in default Steam install locale.

I've tried sorting the load order with tools, and i've used TESTool to try and fix things, but the game still won't quite work. I've tried moving the installation folder and that doesn't work, because Steam forces it to be in program files, otherwise it stops the game from launching. I've also tried running as administrator. Can't disable internal MWSE on MWGE because then the game just doesn't launch at all.

Enable MWSE in MGE XE, disable the standalone. Pretty sure that script's from GameFile63=Companion Health Bars.esp (It's one of Yacoby's mods, IIRC). No idea if it's designed for MGE or MGE XE. But it adds bars to the screen, so needs MGE (XE) functions.

 

I'd also recommend running mlox against your load order, reading its Comments and applying its load order suggestions.

I actually managed to fix it by just removing all the MGE XE stuff. I think I need to get non-steam Morrowind in order to do MGE XE stuff properly. Also, I already did mlox. Like I said, I tried using tools to sort load order.

Glad to hear you found a solution, FalloutDude11. On a related note on MGE XE latest beta... I and others have had problems run'n the Distant Land Script and/or run'n the game w/ the latest beta (SkunkWorks Version). Reverting to the "Official" MGE XE fixes my problems. So if you were running the "SkunkWorks" MGE XE... Maybe try the official mod's page version (v0.9.10).

 

Just throwing it out there :) bc it tripped me up :P But I was not able to run the game at all OR game would run but the distant land would not and I would CTD at random. Besides Dragon32's excellent suggestions, I just wanted to add to it. Take care.
