FONV Cybernetic Arm Request

This would be a great mod if the textures worked and some how override the right arm for it just to show up and not clip through clothing and make it compatible with every piece of clothing. So if anyone would be willing to make a arm like that (maybe like Rhys’ From Borderlands) that would be cool if possible.

It's an awful lot of work to make an arm like that compatible with every piece of clothing. The reason for this is that every piece of clothing includes the human body parts with it. In other words, if you have a T-shirt outfit, the T-shirt outfit includes the human arms, down to the wrists. Hands and heads are separate. Everything else is "upper body" (including the lower body and feet).

This can be done, but you have to modify every single piece of clothing in the game, both the male and female meshes, and then use a script to swap between the cybernetic mesh and the regular human mesh based on the race of the wearer. It's an awful lot of work.

On the other hand, if you just want a couple of outfits and you don't care about compatibility with in-game clothing, this can be done much more easily.

Man I wish the geck and body parts were all separate or something, Anyways I would want it on a clothing mod with one piece of armor i use from the Gunetwork, But idk if i could. Thing is I can just settle with the original arm with better textures and some how fit it on an arm if some one could do that.

It would also be cool with a standalone unique armor with a Cyber Arm like rhys' arm, Buut effort... and I have no idea how to model and my computer sucks soo....

IIRC It's not too bad to work with, since your really just cutting off a piece of an outfit....and the arm is already rigged so you can just hang it off a body slot like an armor addon. That saves a bit of rigging, but doesn't really address the issues MadMongo brought up.....since you will still have to have individual edits of every outfit/armor. I don't think there is any viable work around. You might be able to put a nivisController on a dismemberment skin partition or some other weird nif voodoo but I wouldn't know how to pull it off.

You can also sub textures pretty easy. Here's one I did with power armor, I think the shoUlder (where it joins the body) was the only thing that was a bit of a hassle, but even that could go pretty easy if it's large enough to cover any gap.

I don't want to interrupt or step on any toes in case MadMongo wants to tackle this request for you, but if he doesn't have the time or interest I can look at it for you (although it will be a while.....have a few requests I need to finish up first).
