Raider Gangs - Collecting ideas

So I am going to be creating a mod, and I want some help (not coding wise, I can do that)

My mod will be renaming and re-equipping raiders of the commonwealth, so that there are multiple gangs, with different names (like the forged).

 

There is a similar mod, but it hasn't been updated in over a year, and only changes two groups:

I need your help with first naming the different gangs, then deciding their equipment.

I have a bad naming sense, hence why I ask!

So provide any ideas for names and equipment, and I'll note it here. (Also a name for the mod itself)

I suggest reading the reddit thread, as it provides a bit of context for each group, which might help with the names and equipment.

 

Also, if there are any other groups, please tell me.

I'll wont work with DLC groups for the moment because they are all named and unique groups, but I might work with them in the future.

 

And of course, if you disagree with a name, give a better one. (I will accept pun names, but don't be stupid)

Grognak's raiders -- Think of crazed cosplayers. If you are willing to use other folks mods, with their permission of course. Examples would be metal gear solid, starcraft nova suit the oblivion guard armour.

 

I can't be the only one that thinks some of the weirder fantasy armors are nice looking, but need some sort of context to be used in game.

Where though? Hubris comics has ghouls, not raiders.

And which raider group?

 

I didn't plan on adding in extra raider groups, but that is a good idea, so I might do that later (maybe an Extra Raider Gangs mod that adds more groups)

Lovely idea, although I recommend you get in contact with the team in charge of Raider Overhaul, they seem to be planning to do something similar in later updates, and I'm sure they would appreciate your enthusiasm and initiative.

I can try, either way I was planning to make them compatible as I use this mod, it's one of my favourites!

Hey I got an idea. Here are some things I am thinking of:

 

The Reds: A raider gang taken upon the ideology of communism and attack anybody on sight. Them being located South Boston.

The Sharks: A raider gang that mostly is on the coasts and uses combat rifles.

The Slitnuauhts: A fierce raider gang located in Central Boston using mostly assault rifles and heavy metal armor.

The Vipers: A raider gang that tends to stay South of Boston near Quincy using stealth boys and wielding silenced weapons.

The Wolves: Located in the northern part of the commonwealth the Wolves like to use light armor but are many in size.

These are some suggestions. I hope you include some of these in your mod. :)

P.S. if you do pls give credit for names of the gangs.

Highwaymen - Jared's Gang

 

With a surplus of steel,aluminium,coolant,and lubricants,the Highwaymen would be equipped with heavy armour,and advanced weapons with lots of moving parts; That means full-auto ballistics,and only the newest members would be wielding pipe guns,with such a surplus of quality materials and tools. Maybe give Jared and/or Gristle (Gristle's team was part of this gang!) a suit of Powered Armour. Named for a popular Old World car,and accurately summarizes their profession.

 

Libertarians - Wire's Gang

 

Situated out on the water as they are,they'd be wearing light armour,if any armour at all; A dip in the drink while weighed down with armour's death. Further,Wire,and,presumably,the rest of the gang's leadership,are ex-Minutemen. As such,their equipment should reflect this; Raggedy dusters,ten gallons,and tweaked for slaughter Laser Muskets. The rank-and-file would avoid using heavy weaponry for the same reason they avoid heavy armour,so they'll mostly be wielding carbines and sidearms. Named for their location.

 

Flakkers - Ack-Ack's Gang

 

Situated in a USAF signal station with a special forces detachment,they'd have access to plenty of scary hardware,as evidenced by Ack-Ack herself; This crazed woman wields a minigun whilst on foot! They should be decked in military-grade armour,and wielding military arms. However,considering the desolate neck of the Commonwealth they occupy,they're probably hungrier than most,with less ammo to spare; Ack-Ack likely has a monopoly on the gang's ammo stores,to feed her six screaming barrels.

 

Zimonjans - Boomer's Gang

 

More likely than not,these "Raiders" are trying to go straight; They're out in the middle of Podunk,Nowhere,fortifying a communications mast,and trying to get local agriculture off the ground. Boomer's the only really heavily armed member,and he likely took those with him when he and his crew deserted whoever they walked out on. They fire on you because,in the Wasteland,a group like theirs is perfect prey for nearly anyone with balls and a gun,Boomer's own impressive arms notwithstanding.

 

Sønner av den Nordlige Stjernen (Sons of the Northern Star) - The Norwegians

 

Hard to find a more compelling sob story in Fallout 4. Named for their ship,desperately trying to keep their half-remembered culture alive,keep themselves alive,in a world they cannot interact with,because of a mutual language barrier. And,of course,in the Wasteland,you kill that which you don't understand. They raid because they must,and otherwise keep to themselves. Because they live on a ship,shotguns and sniper rifles would be the order of the day; The former to repel boarders,the latter to keep people from making the attempt to begin with.

The Pigs: Raiders camped out at BADTFL Regional Offices. You can change their appearance to make them look like police officers. Maybe record some new lines to make them sound like overly aggressive police officers. "You will put your hands above your head and kiss your sorry ass goodbye, citizen!!" "Obey and survive!!" "Make no mistake. This IS police brutality you maggot!!"

 

The Drunken Irish: These raiders are the ones camped out at the Shamrock Tamphouse. You don't even have to try real hard on this one. Just give them all Irish accents and maybe some other lolz stuff. Bowler hats. I don't know, but you get the idea. An Irish gang.

 

The Kendell Chem Dogs: The raiders camped out at Kendell Hospital. It's a play on Warhammer 40k, and a good way to introduce a drug pushing gang into the lore.

I always thought it would be interesting to have real world gangs. Instead of these fantasy gangs, why wouldn't the crips, bloods, MS-13, Hells Angels, etc. take over after a nuclear war? Too controversial?

I think these might actually dox you, and then it will literally be a matter of life and death.
