What do you feel are the most important things that should be in any legislation that congress presents involving that right to an open net
These are mine

1) No corporate entity, private organization or person's should be allowed to block, slow down or prioritize lawful content that he/she as a consumer choose to view or present solely for the propose of personal momentary gain or self promotion.
2)No corporate entity, private organization or person's should be allow to use personal information without he/she express consent and should this consent be given it should only be used only in the pursuit of providing a a better service not in the pursuit of personal monetary gain.
3) No corporate entity, private organization or person's should be allowed to interfere or influence the free market of the information hwy in unsavory, illegal or monopolizing manner for the sole purpose of self promotion or monetary gain.
4) No corporate entity, private organization or persons should be allowed to censor lawful content for the sole purpose of self promotion or monetary gain.
5)No corporate entity, private organization or person's shall be allowed to restrict access to information based solely on a person personal, religious, social , racial or economic status.
The fight to keep the internet open is an important one not because it is of what the internet is but because of what it represents an open information hwy free for all to enjoy. I posted this to generate a debate on what others feel is important about keeping the internet open to all. Regardless of your views on Net Neutrality or its impact on the internet I feel that any law regarding this topic needs to be address by the people not just corporate entities or those who would use their political power to further their agendas.
I also would like to ask those of you who post your ideas to send you ideas to this email address

For my ideas on this subject please read the "Google" discussion in the Lounge. To restate it partially, the issue of predation by private industry on our internet and our constitutional rights inherent with internet traffic can only be solved long-term through legislation barring domestic media production companies and cable TV providers from also offering public internet service. The conflicts of interest between last century's and now almost entirely sold-off entertainment establishment, cable TV providers etc, and a free and protected internet, are obvious, myriad, fundamental and inherent to the former's core businesses. In absence of this legislation, all other measures are band-aids applied to a mortal shotgun wound, because the corporate profit motive is both infinite and perpetual. In 240 years of history, nobody has ever found a third alternative when new communications technologies have come along. Traffic on the new networks must either be legally protected or it will, with absolute certainty, eventually be lost to this profit motive. Our landline telephone network went through the exact same process last century. Fortunately the monopoly abuse, subjugation of free speech, privacy and other constitutional rights to private industry and resulting public outrage happened fairly quickly in that case, Title I and II protection of this traffic in 1934 marked the beginning of the golden era for our phone network that remains with us to this day. These exact same protections are the singular reason why we are not greeted with Geico commercials instead of a dial tone when we pick up a telephone.

IMO the above is one of the few absolute prerequisites for saving the internet in our country. The good news is that the situation is entirely self-correcting. Because if 320 million free Americans aren't willing to protect net neutrality, and are willing to put up with these levels of abject treason and absolute disenfranchisement from our own federal government, own own prostituted, bankrupt both financially and morally and now fascist employees, the simple reality is that no America remains to be defended. Personally I don't believe that, but I also don't rule out the possibility. Time will tell and very shortly.
