The best hope for humanity. A Brotherhood of Steel story (SPOILERS)

I like to roleplay my way through games like fallout because I feel like i'm watching a movie or reading a book where i'm the one making decisions and making my character's thinking via roleplay.
So i've decided to make some sort of story about my character's experience in the brotherhood of steel questline.

NOTICE: This is not a fanfiction or any of that stuff.. Its not so much a custom story and bit more of the mental progress my character went through during her experience with the brotherhood of steel as i said before. Although. you might find some added elements to it.

I made female sole survivor and male sole survivor (Basically only changed the "She, her" and "He, his and him" in between the stories) just for the pure sake of roleplay if you want to read the story imagining your own character going through the story.

I apologize if find my story writing skills are not that great, It's actually the first time I write any story at all..

But anyway... I would really like to read other people's comments and oppinions if you read the story

And eventhough I hate to influence or intervene with other people's experience or roleplay I must give a list of some of the things in my game that are important for the story to make sense.

And HUGE SPOILERS ahead (Obviously)

Female Sole Survivor

The sole survivor thought the brotherhood of steel was a military force with the purpose of helping the people of the post apocalyptic wasteland. She believed that speech about honor she was given by Paladin Danse, She thought it was worth it. She wanted to make a name for herself in between the ranks so that she could count on them when helping others.

After the prydwen arrived, she eagerly got to meet her first superiors, but was received with a harsh welcome by being judged by her looks and how everyone thought she wouldn't have been able to handle the rank. She new that’s what soldier’s life was like so none of it mattered, she was sure about herself. Making an alliance between the brotherhood and the minutemen was her intention, she got to meet elder Maxson and heard his speech about synths -Maxson: "Synths are an abomination of technology and need to be destroyed". Because she had been helped synths, befriended synths and even have a sentimental relationship with a synth name Curie before, she was no enemy to synths, only the ones that would be proven to be a threat. She didn't agree at all with his speech and was a bit disappointed , but she kept it for herself.

After speaking with elder Maxson, she realized he was a stubborn man with his vision stright in his goals. She had been recommended by paladin Danse as a new asset to the brotherhood, but Maxson had to test her out. She was assigned to clear out a den full of super mutants. After meeting most of the prydwen’s crew. She headed to the docking bay to start her first assignment. Which she did effortlessly without remorse. She was trying to gain the trust of the brotherhood, not for a bad reason, but because she wanted to make an alliance between the brotherhood and the minutemen possible with a main goal in mind, help the people who needed it.

Slowly she started to realize what members of the brotherhood thought about people in the commonwealth, as kettle or pawns who needed to be moved strategically, was even asked to go to local farms and take food from them whether they would agree or not. She was slowly getting more and more reasons to believe the brotherhood was actually an evil group, how they were obsessed with humans and humans only had the right to live. How they were going to start a war that would kill no only the institute, but probably a lot of innocent people too.

When it was revealed that paladin Danse was a synth while talking to Maxson, she already knew the words he was going to say before he did. He asked her to kill Danse. Thousands of thoughts going through her head she just wanted to know where he was, she just wanted to talk to him, so she kept playing the Knight role around the crew until she left the prydwen. When she found paladin danse, She saw a defeated man, a man who was disappointed at himself, for nothing else than.. Existing. She managed to get some sense on his head, and convinced him to explain himself to Maxson. But Maxson was already ahead of them, he was at already at Danse's location ready to confront him when they got out of the building -Maxson; “YOU ARE AN ABOMINATION OF TECHNOLOGY, YOU REPRESENT ALL THAT WE HATE,YOU WERE NOT RAISED BY THE LOVING ARMS OF A MOTHER, YOU WERE MADE IN A LABORATORY AND GIVEN A SYNTHETIC SOUL,” .-Danse; "When I saw my brothers dying in my feet, I felt sorrow, when we won, I felt pride, And when I heard your speeches, I felt hope, THOSE are human feelings". None of it mattered to Maxson, his ideology made him completely turn his back to one of his top officers, not caring about him for a single second. The sole survivor tried to convince Maxson to spare Danse’s life, but she failed, she knew she had no choice.. But she couldn't do it. So she let Maxson do it instead, without remorse, he executed Danse, as if he was a mole rat. In his last words he struggled to say “Ad Victoriam”. Anger and sadness filled her body and almost for a second attacked Maxson, but she resisted her feelings as she watched him getting back to his vertbird. On her way back to the prydwen, she felt regret, by letting Maxson kill Danse, who had not only been her mentor, but also a friend. She wanted out. But there was no easy way out of the brotherhood. She had to think about it, she couldn’t just leave, as she would’ve probably been seen as a deserter or a traitor and would’ve been hunted down by the brotherhood so she decided to play along. She remembered what scribe Haylen told her when speaking with her at the cambridge police station… “sometimes, i don’t know if joining the brotherhood was a mistake”.

When the sole survivor arrived at Maxson’s not knowing what to expect anymore and despite all of the “inconveniences” during her last mission Maxson decided to ascend her to the rank of Paladin. She felt like more than being ascended by her work in the line of duty, Maxson was actually trying to replace Danse, as if he had never existed, as if he wanted to erase the fact that he ever existed and she new it, she was even given his power armor. She couldn’t take it.

To make matters even worse, she was assigned to her next mission. Taking out the railroad, a group who had helped her before, The railroad where not a very resourceful army, and they were trying to help synths who wanted to be free from the institute. The Brotherhood wanted the railroad out because of that very reason of course, despite hating the institute as much as the Brotherhood, the railroad was still an enemy that needed to be eliminated.
The sole survivor had no reason to kill them, she didn’t want to kill anyone who would help others who needed help, but what she wanted didn’t matter at all to the Brotherhood, those were orders and orders are expected to be carried out.
She remembered that feeling of anger and regret, the same she felt after Danse’s death, it was as if she had already wiped out the railroad. She was fed up with the brotherhood. She went to the main deck and entered Danse’s power armor and headed back to Maxson’s, She confronted him. -Sole survivor; “I won't, do it.” -Maxson; “What?... “ -Sole survivor; “I said I WON'T do it Maxson.” -Maxson; “You have just been granted the rank of Paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel and THIS is how you trash it?. Look, I let everyone know that it was YOU who dealt with Danse and I was ready to look away from the fact that you decided to ignore the DIRECT order I gave you, and know you are resisting to destroy those who help our enemies? I really don't think you understand the stakes that we are in. You might be too narrow minded to see it yet, but we are here to help the people from themselves, from using technology that can get out of their contr……” *Sole survivor interrupts* -Sole survivor; “bulls***, you don't want to help people, you just want to hoard all of the technology for yourselves, so that you can be the only ones with the power and the will to use it, and you don’t really care about who might me in your way, you think i don’t realize how you see the people down there, how you think you’re above everyone else. You are willing to destroy all of those who are not like you and who don’t think like you. Making everyone else your enemy and fighting a war with all of them at the same time. And that makes me realize, the biggest enemy you’ve always had Is yourselves. You’re not humanity’s best hope, you’re your own best hope. Consider me resigned from all my duties as a member of the brotherhood as I am no longer a part of it.” - Maxson; “NOT SO FAST vault dweller, yes you’ are indeed not a part of the brotherhood anymore, however i’m not just gonna let you walk out of here as you will now be considered a traitor and an enemy of the brotherhood, and will be court-martialed.” -Sole survivor “I don’t think so.”. The sole survivor then tried to shoot Maxson in an attempt to flee but her deadly accuracy missed this time. While everyone else was alarmed and immediately turned their weapons against her, the power armor suit was keeping her protected.

As she ran towards the docking area, She saw all the vertbirds had been deployed because of the alert. She instantly remembered for a brief second Proctor Ingram’s story about surviving a very big drop because of her power armor, so she saw no other escape option than jumping out of the Prydwen, not knowing if it was going to work, she jumped down. It was a long trip to the floor, where she had the time to think if this was the end. She landed safely thanks to the suit, a brief second of surprise and relief went through her head, but instantly started sprinting towards the exit not without being shot from every direction and losing a few parts of the armor. When she managed to leave the airport, she realized that with the brotherhood’s knights and vertbirds after her, she was not going to escape so easily. She decided to leave the power armor behind and escape on foot.

She managed to lose the brotherhood and at this point, she was now completely aware. The brotherhood was going to hunt her down and her allies. As she was getting further away from the airport and looking back at the Prydwen for a few seconds as if she was trying to tell them something without them listening. -Sole Survivor;”Get ready for war.”
