Implementing custom power Armour

Hello!

I'm on my way of creating my own power armour to put into Fallout 4, properly built around the frame taken from the game files. Now, I've looked at a few resources on how to properly implement and through trial and error I've only managed to show the model from the "inspect" menu. However it won't appear on the PA itself when equipped, it'll show the original model the power was based on - seeing that it was a copy paste of the T60 ID from the creation kit.

I'm aware that there are two states of power armour of being both a furniture and an equipped object, but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for when it comes editing the file itself.

I'm using FO4edit to skim through the file but I'm wondering if I needed to extract more from the B.A.E, seeing what I'm assuming I didn't actually take the equipped model to begin with?

- I also know its textures aren't correct, they're the original power armour textures, and that the co-ordinance for the inspection menu is off-center (I've fixed the latter already).

any help or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers guys!

You will need to change the path pointing to all the T60 nif references to your own. You shouldnât need anything else. FYI, the two PA states are irrelevant. The armor will show equipped on both the PA race and the Furniture provided your nif references are correct. Be sure to have the requisite ARMA, ARMO, MISC, and OMOD set up for each armor piece. If you want them constructable, make sure you set that up as well.

Edit: considering the textures/materials, you will need to have your materials set up as well, and pointing to the correct texture files. Be sure to create a MSWP (material swap) for each texture you want to apply to an armor piece pointing to the material you created.

I've been looking into other power armour mod nif files to see how they've done it so if I have any other additional questions/problems I'll just update this thread, and dig around the forums to see if I can find out more about implementation. Thank you very much for putting me in the right direction though!

edit: In terms of rigging, is there anything particular you need to do/is it necessary? I've seen some PA mods that will properly be rigged to the power armour when it's entered, and others where it'll just simply stretch out the mesh when the arms and back of the legs open. I know it's not really a massive concern for some but I'm just wondering if it's a simple process of just adding a seam where you want the armour to open, or working with the PA frame's animations.
