Primitive Skyrim

As the title suggests, I'd love to see a mod that takes place in a primitive landscape, similar to Far Cry Primal. The mod would use mods like Mihail's Megafauna series, Frostfall, Hunterborn, Scrimshaw Expanded, and Campfire, among others to create a rough and rugged survival experience. The mod would replace the major cities with tents and wooden-spike walls. In short, it'd be like being an early Native American during the ice age.

The mod would replace the current races with races of men, each from different tribes, and each specializing in different skills. The current magic system would be reworked to seem more primitive, focusing around simply healing, controlling animals, and around elemental magic. Magic would be performed with staves. The mod would replace the current perk system with that of Campfire. The trees would be as follows:

  • Archery: Self-explanatory
  • Magic: Focused on the magical elements, reducing magicka cost and increasing spell power/ effectiveness
  • Axe: Similar to one-handed, but focused purely on axes
  • Spearman: Similar to two-handed, but focused purely on spears
  • Survival: Already in Campfire
  • Endurance: Already in Frostfall
  • Craftsman: Similar to smithing, but instead of smithing and tempering, it'd be focused on scrimshaw, unlocking new recipes and better stringing your bow.
  • Alchemy: self-explanatory, similar as it is to vanilla. However, potions would possibly take some time to work, such as healing over time, or their effectiveness would wane as time goes by.
  • Gatherer: Better able to harvest alchemy ingredients (possibly just be a part of alchemy).
  • Hunter: Better able to harvest pelts and collect meat, overhauling the current system in Hunterborn.

The main goal would be survival. The would be no steel or iron, but instead, simply stone and wood. There could even be the option to start your own tribe, setting tasks for your tribesmen, collecting food and water, building new structures, and fighting off animals that attack. The currency system would be one of trade. You trade pelts, meat, potions, staves, weapons, clothing, etc. and need to pay the equivalent or over-pay for an item you want to purchase. There would be no formal currency.

While I have no modding experience, I would gladly oversee a project like this, playtest, and generate ideas. Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful day!
