Sarah Lyons and a quest mod (bring her back to life)

Someone posted on Reddit about how it's weird Bethesda killed her off with one holotape. I agree and I've kinda had this idea for awhile.

What if Maxon did something with or to her and she's not actually dead, but he used her disappearance to take over the Brotherhood. It's not that far fetched since how she died isn't really mentioned.

If we got a quest mod about her and maybe even got her as a follower that would be awesome.

For layout, we could go to places outside the commonwealth via vertabird and look for her. (Just use interior cells). Once we find her and depose Maxon, she would lead or maybe in a Brotherhood defeated ending, we save her and she takes the remnants of the Brotherhood back.

Anyway, just a thought. Lemme know what you think.

ah, another BoS fan!

BoS-lore is one of the best things about Fallout fandom IMHO.

yeah, it was ignominious for Lyons to be alluded to as an off-screen demise.

I'd like to think she's still out there, somewhere else in the Fallout world,

MIA not KIA, trying to restore communications with other BoS locations,

or defeating the Enclave somewhere and unable to check-in.

she might be in V112,

stopping StanislausBraun from leaving that...

V112 & V111 have a lot in common.

----

I find the depiction of the BoS in FO4,

to be quasi-canonical. they're depicted as much more Enclave-like than in previous Fallout games.

not since Fallout 1 were the BoS so 'harsh' in demeanor,

and the stance towards the CIT/BigMT is odd.

I also don't know how "Elder" Maxson can go from FO3 to FO4,

and folks tolerate them as a 'leader" -

it's not how I envisaged BoS protocol and leadership to function;

the Elders form a council which meets to discuss issues.

http://lejacquelope.tumblr.com/post/134267561386/spoilers-fallout-4s-plot-dropped-the-ball Bethesda (or should i now say bugsesda) really missed an opportunity of an alternative BOS faction led by Sarah Lyons. I really hated that the brotherhood had reverted to being closed minded idiots who don't know obvious technological progress when they see it.

Agreed - would be a great mod! Of course, I'm still trying to figure out how Maxon went from a 12-year old squire to a 40-year-old Elder in just 10 years. At least MacReady looks like a guy in his mid-20s.

I just found out about a mod that is exactly that, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28085 . I just wish that it was in the vanilla game to begin with.

Honestly I'm curious how close Sarah came to being the leader of the BOS as we see them in the Commonwealth? Was Maxim introduced because Beth felt that the character of Sarah Lyons never would have gone for the hard nosed approach we see with Maxim? What if Sarah's father had been killed by synths? The Citadel destroyed by a synth suicide bomber type and Sarah followed the trail of the synth to the CW looking for revenge?

Your role then as the Sole Survivor could have tied into hers similar to the way it does with Paladin Danse along the lines of trying to redeem her character before she destroyed 1/2 the commonwealth on her path of vengeance. If successful you could have been the new BoS leader / Sarah's Husband (or wife) etc.

In my immersive / RP version of the Fallout Lore I always play it as Sarah was not in fact dead, but rather she and the Lone Wander escaped together with Elder Lyons blessing to get out while they still could. Perhaps he seen the writing on the wall with Maxim's rise to power and knew Maxim would either attempt to wed Sarah as a form of political marriage or kill her to break the line of succession. For this reason the LW returns to the Citadel to find all hell breaking loose and must rescue Sarah and escape together.

Instead of trying to go back to the brotherhood, Sarah sees what they were all to willing to become under the direction of Maxim and decides they have degenerated from Elder Lyons vision of hope and prosperity. At which point she washes her hands of them and decides to start her life over with the LW, perhaps leading a Minuteman like military group in the capitol wasteland to maintain order in the absence of the BOS when they leave and come into the Commonwealth.
