Dark0ne Posted February 9, 2018 Share Posted February 9, 2018 I'm going to be completely straight with you, we're currently working on increasing our social media presence for Nexus Mods and have budgeted a small amount each month towards increasing our social media readership. We could certainly put that money straight into purchasing Facebook and Twitter ads, but I much prefer the idea of using that money instead to fund giveaways that benefit our users and that everyone can enter (even if you don't care about or hate social media). To that end, we plan to run fortnightly giveaways for Steam gift cards. Anyone can enter, and we provide additional entries for users who join and interact with us on social media. Why do we care about social media? We're using our social media channels to provide a steady stream of modding news and hidden gems for as many games as possible that Nexus Mods supports. For some, social media is an addictive daily habit, for others, it's the devil incarnate (with most sat somewhere in the middle of those two extremes). We find it a useful alternative platform for sharing things with a wider reach and a larger audience of users. I know from our engagements in these channels that lots of people appreciate it too. Which is great! We also understand some of you don't care about social media, and that's fine too. This week's giveaway is for a £35 Steam Gift card (which converts to your own local currency on Steam if you win) which is roughly $50 depending on the exchange rate. To enter, all you need to do is head on over to our competition entry page, read our competition rules and enter your (very limited, don't worry) details so that if you win, we can contact you. That's it. If you want a few more chances to win, you can follow the instructions to increase your chances of winning. As I said, we're simply testing these giveaways out at the moment and will see how people respond. If it's positive and we receive good engagement we'll likely increase the rewards as a result.
