Vortex and FNIS

Hi,

Has anyone been able to get vortex to work with FNIS in Skyrim special edition? It doesn't seem to recognize other mods that require FNIS are installed.

Of course it's just an alpha so could be a feature is missing.

Thanks for any insight.

It is working for me. Matter of fact, I did not have to "attach" FNIS to Vortex. As soon as I downloaded / install / enable it, it was added automatically by Vortex but here is the strange thing :

- Usually, we have to activate FNIS before launching the game but for some reason, I forgot and Flower Girls animations are working as they should. I have played the game already during almost 17 hours via Vortex without activating FNIS and my animations have never failed. I admit, this is not common and if Vortex is automatically activating FNIS once you launch the game, then I am so happy because it is one less step to follow before launching the game, otherwise, it if is a bug ( a positive bug ... lol ... ) then I guess they will fix it soon.

I've tried multiple times, clean reinstall etc. It just doesnt work. And Fnis reports 0 animations found. I fuess ill have to report it as a bug.

I have one idea, I'll try to repoint the link to FNIS since it auto populated. I wonder if it's pointing to a wrong link somehow. Came from mod organizer

Yeah that could be it. Sounds like you transfered files from MO to Vortex and i did fresh install of FNIS inside Vortex.

  • 7 months later...

I just returned to modding, i had the old nexus mods thing installed. Fnis worked perfectly.

But then i installed Vortex and uninstalled Nexus mods manager. I reinstalled everything including Fnis. but when i run Fnis i get this error (Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\scripts\FNIS_aa2.pex' is denied.)

So i turned on the stuff in Vortex, to have it use mod manager button and to automatically run FNIS but it keeps telling me that FNIS isnt installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, no luck.

FNIS isn't working for me with Vortex.

  • I've installed FNIS through Vortex.
  • Vortex recognized it and I started It through the Dashboard.
  • Succesfully installed all my animations.
  • Deployed and confirmed external changes.
  • -> Doesn't work.
  • Reinstalled FNIS.
  • Let Vortex handle FNIS automatically.
  • Got the FNIS Output files as a mod. Enabled it. Deployed my mods.
  • -> Doesn't work.

It just doesn't work. Everytime I'm in CC my Character has the T-Pose. No animations at all. FNIS behaviour files are not found.

Edit: Solved. Some Oldrim Animations were loaded. Fixed by converting them!
