Need Help Troubleshooting Skin Textures.

Hello forums! I'm sorry, I'm sure this topic is already here somewhere but I have been unable to find one that is this exact issue. Also tried Google with no luck. I'm hoping there is a mod guru on here that can help me. There are two issues I'm having. The first one is most skin textures I try to apply to my CBBE body don't show up in game and if I try to apply a face texture my face just turns a dark brown. I saw some other posts mention this might be texture wrapping improperly but those posts also told me to edit my .ini files in a way that LOOT and NMM both told me are outdated and lead to slow load times. However, when I use body slide the skin texture is correct. I do have unique player character mod installed and maybe that is causing the issue?

 

The second issue is that no matter what I do I cannot get my game to detect body tattoo mods. When I go to my looks mirror and then go to body and try to add a layer there are simply no options. In the past I have had skin textures added to my CBBE body AND body tattoos with no issues. I have no idea what has caused it this time.

I wish I could help you with your issues, but I am too new to this modding scene, and CBBE as well. But perhaps you can help me with a small annoying problem using BodySlide

 

I can use the features and all, except no matter what preset I select, I get a body preview showing the skin all splotchy and patchwork looking (texture?) (mesh?)

 

How do I get a nice uniform skin tone/color, because the splotchy crap showed up on my follower in-game, and this is bad! Nothing I have tweaked in Outfit Studio, or BodySlide itself has worked to remove this. I do not know enough about this stuff to really understand if I have a texture, or a mesh issue and don't really know the difference. Or maybe BodySlide itself is buggy? Can you help?

Sounds like you installed the Unique Player mod incorrectly. Check the mod page for detailed installation instructions. Or post your issue there for a quicker answer.

My own character body (male) is fine but very vanilla. It is my female followers that have the splotchy texturing. I thought Unique Player was a mod that affects only myself, in-game. Will certainly recheck this, but I don't think this is the issue as I have since, re-installed the game AND mods, and Unique Player is not incl this time. Also new installations of CBBE and BodySlide. And STILL getting the same splotchy patterned textures on my FOLOWERS. I followed Gopher's "how to" vid on using Bodyslide to the letter as well - still no joy. My Preset was CBBE Body Physics - outfit was CBBE (Curvy) body, I selected my groups as CBBE Bodies, and hit build. Nothing changed in the game - same old splotchy crap - the body builds I made are there, but the splotchy coloration of the skin is what the issue is. This does NOT show up with the BodySlide Preview, btw - that looks fine. It's just not translating to the game.

If you're not using Unique Player any more, then the problem is in one (or more) of 3 areas - so check the following directories, and see if a) they are present and/or is there is anything in them, and b) what the file dates on anything in there are.

 

If they are present, and have files in them, FULLY and totally un-install then re-install CBBE, then recheck the file dates. They should change, if any files don't, then that is most likely the problem.
