Skyrim Hunted by Cults Mod Request

Nothing much to say. Various cults/organizations/supernatural entities that will attempt to locate and kill you. There have been multiple mods of this, but there have never been entire factions trying to hunt you down and kill you. This would start off as a fight-or-flight mod, with small teams occasionally coming after you and slowly growing in numbers and power. For example, starting out you might have a few small teams of two or three come into major cities, patrol the roads, or scouting the wilds. The more you kill, the more they send (like in real life), and the better their gear and higher their stats. Eventually they send mini-bosses as well in their hunting teams.

Later on in the mod, however, you will discover the locations of various headquarters of the cult/organization, mainly in hidden caves. Clearing out these headquarters will increase the firepower of the hunters sent after you, but decrease their numbers. The defeat of this cult would be slow, with around thirty headquarters and bases scattered around Skyrim. Each HQ would have it's own boss battle and would be stocked full with cultists.

 

You could either report the cult to the guards or take care of it yourself. If you report it to the guards, there's a chance that the guard could be bribed by the cult and you could be arrested and attacked in jail, with the chances of guard-bribing would depend on the known corruption of the hold (Riften, Markarth, etc.). Places like Solitude or Whiterun would likely check out the cult/attempt to destroy it. Guards attacking the compound would have a 1/4 chance of the attack being repelled.

 

The hunting units would have their own tactics and strategy. In big cities, the foot-soldiers would walk around in silent-dialogue with other NPCs, asking around if they have seen you. If they have, it will depend on the disposition between NPC and Player on if they rat you out or not. They would preferably attack you when others are not looking.

The composition and backstory of the cult would be completely up to the mod creators. I say creators as plural because there could be endless variations of this type of mod. Who do you want the player to be hunted down by? The Nazgul, Akatsuki, Stormcloaks, Empire, Order of the Black Worm, Dragon Cult, Thalmor? Maybe some custom group? There are tons of potential groups who either want the player dead, or want to capture the player to do some nefarious act/ritual. The possibilities are endless.

 

The cult/organization itself would be composed of snipers (long range archers), foot-soldiers, assassins, and battlemages. The ranks of the enemy would require higher cult hatred (lower disposition/aka you have killed all they send). I don't know what you could name the ranks, but preferably there would be less than 10.

Now, you may be thinking "but the dawnguard hunts you if you're a vampire, and the cultists hunt you later on in the dragonborn story".

Do these factions have any sort of strategy? Do they actively hunt for you and try to kill/capture you and do they keep you on your toes? They're not really persistent.

 

The goal of this mod wouldn't be to create a mod where you should not just mow all they send at you, rather you should just run/avoid them. Why? Like I said, they would send more units and faster intervals, with better weaponry/armor every time. You may be tempted to slaughter all they send and ship their severed heads back to their compounds, but that only works if you would want to be overwhelmed with enemies at every city, patrolling every road, and hunting through every woodland. It would be better to see them and find an alternative route to attempt to avoid them.

 

It would be cool to be able to disguise yourself, or change your clothes to quickly walk by them so if you stand around too long around them they'll find out that it's you.

 

Whatever you would want to make the mod based on/the faction, I would highly recommend giving them custom armor/weaponry, with SkyUI to access the mod configuration menu to change chances and stats.

 

 

This is a type of mod that one can't say is not possible. Most of this happens in Skyrim already, but this would just add onto it, expand it, and flesh it out even further. One might find it boring to make, but I highly disagree. You can create a supernatural entity/undead faction that would blend in with the living to find you. Maybe if they find you they can slowly approach you, with some eerie noise in the background slowly growing in volume. You can turn Skyrim into Stephen King's "It" if you want. There are literally limitless possibilities.

 

Again, there have been plenty of mods like this, but most are broken and very little if any create entire factions hunting you. This is a mod that is criminally unmade. It requires some scripting, but most of the scripting is already there, it just has to be expanded.
