Content Patcher 1.2 is now available!

Release notes:
* Added support for overlaying images.
* Added optional debug mode for modders.
* FromFile, Target, and map tilesheets are now case-insensitive.
* Fixed null fields not being ignored after warning.

So I'm a bit confused. How do I install files that use the xnb? I was putting Nightmare's House mod red house into the folder and nothing happened, and I want to install a bunch of other ones but I don't want to break my game customize everything. Am I just putting it in the wrong place or is there something else I'm missing? I just installed this last night so I was playing with it now.

Hi Amnesia. See using XNB mods for help with those. Content Patcher only loads content packs written for it.

Don't forget to check the SMAPI console when a mod doesn't work, it'll often explain why. :)

Skipped 2 mods: 	   ContentPatcher 1.1 because it needs SMAPI 2.5.2 or later. Please update SMAPI to the latest version to use this mod.

Oh so they mod people have to actually write it for the mod itself? So everyone needs to update and rewrite it themselves, otherwise I need to use the xnb to change it. I actually like the mods I installed using the xnb but it would be nice to not have to change them that way. Also thank you making everything I've only had stardew for a month and all the modding is great, I love it <3

Yep, XNB mods need to be converted before Content Patcher will be able to read them. Feel free to also use XNB mods separately, but most of them will break in the upcoming Stardew Valley 1.3 update. :)

Hey there - I'd love to be able to use this Mod but it doesn't let the game start up for me. When I tried this out with Elle's recoloured grass and cliffs, I get a black screen and the loading beach ball cursor (I'm on a Mac). I've tried it as just ContentPatcher and the recolour as well as along with my other mods and it just breaks the game. I wonder if it's something to do with my steup but here is the Terminal log -
