A perhaps simple question :)

Hello, I have modded skyrim before and had a great time. I would love to start modding it again with my new pc, i7 7700k 1080TI

However I have a problem and I have always had the same problem which have caused me to uninstall it and just give up on the game....

EVERY TIME I get a lot of mods the game starts to behave weird and I get freezes etc etc and it just ruins the gameplay completely. Sometimes objects are purple and just completely crappy.

Is there a way to avoid all of this and have the game installed with over 400 mods and not a single issue at all ?
How can I avoid these issues?

I would really appreciate some help thanks.

400 mods?!!!! The limit is 255! o_O Pull back on some mods until you reach that limit(but preferably below) and start using LOOT: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1918 It's on the SE page but in the program itself you can choose your version of Skyrim.

sometimes the purple texture thing can be fixed by verifying the integrity of the game files in steam, it's really easy to do and googling it pulls up the instructions on how pretty much immediately.

if you have the patience for it, cleaning the mods with tes5edit should help as well, but you'd have to check and make sure the mods don't say not to do that. LOOT tells you which mods need cleaning too, so you don't have to bother cleaning mods that don't actually need it.

Purple textures are often an example of the game running out of VRAM. Regardless of your specs, there's only so much VRAM Skyrim can use - so you see this issue as textures fail to load.

HOWEVER, there's a relatively easy fix - have you ever installed the ENB framework? Even if you don't use an actual ENB, you should be installing it since it greatly expands the memory Skyrim can access. It's practically mandatory for many larger mods.
