BS: Bruma - Purple Textures

OverlordBR

Recommended Posts

I start playing normally in Bruma, but after a loading few screens some textures start to became purple, just with stuff from the "BS: Bruma mod". Like armor textures, and even roads windows and walls later.

Sometimes it start flickering textures in the buildings, like in the windows and doors/doors-ways.

Can someone help me with this?

Purple means you have textures missing. Either they are absent or not been installed properly.

If they had been overwritten by another Mod, I guess they would be replaced by the other mod? But as you have various textures for gear etc, the texture files may have been overwritten but are not linked to the meshes properly, so they are invisible to the game?

I don't use a lot of texture mods, but as they often replace existing textures, some of these mods can be incompatible if they replace the same thing. In that situation, it's not just load order that matters, but also the install order, as something installed later can over-write stuff installed earlier. EG, three mods from different authors that replace standard armour textures, for example.

You can sometimes mix and match stuff from several, similar mods, but you'll have to work out the install order and which mod to install first and last. Sometimes, installing the mod with the most stuff first, a medium amount of stuff in the middle and the least stuff last can help.

So if you tried re-installing Bruma and any add-ons to it you are using by the same author, in the order recommended by the author, that might fix your problem.

It could, of course, mean that other texture mods installed earlier could then start showing purple textures. If that happens, you either have to live with it or decide which mods you want to use.

A more advanced solution could, possibly, be to check the meshes and textures with tools like the CK, nifskope, Gimp, TESEdit etc once you have identified the problem ones and correcting any errors. I did this once with a Morrowind mod where some ore nodes were white due to textures not being properly linked to their meshes.

But as a first step, I'd suggest re-installing Bruma. I do not use this mod, but if the remodelled armours you have at the end are by another author, that may be the problem.

Good Luck!
