PapyrusUtil 3.4 doesn't work with SSE 1.5.39 / SKSE64 2.0.7

It won't crash and burn. it will just do nothing and any mods that use it will lose whatever functionality relies on it.

But if you are crashing, PapyrusUtil is not the reason (despite the message in the log). There is a fix in SKSE64 2.0.7 specifically to stop PapyrusUtil crashing your game, and the fix works. Look for other .dll's in your SKSE folder that might be the reason.

ok, i guess i have some removing one dll at a time & game launch testing to do. so this is almost definitely something in my skse plugins folder causing the 2.07 problem though?

more update: if it's a dll other than papyrusutil, my current suspects are: jaxonz positioner, simply knock, skill uncapper or to your face.

After a game update all mods that use DLLs need to be updated not just SKSE itself. If you care about your saved games you don't want to play until you can get all of those mods updated for the new game version. (Technically the existing saved games will still be fine, but if you play and make any new saves those will be broken since not all of the SKSE/DLL-based features will be working and that will very likely result in corrupted information being saved in the new savegame files.)

@cd & omb: thanks, it's simply knock. ton of comments + 2 bug reports about 2.07 crashes on the sk page. pulled the dll from rotation until (hopefully) mod update.

skill uncapper would have made me cry, but per the author's description, i guess it's fine with cc updates, knock <ahem> on wood.

+ thanks to aers and xILARTH for the fast updates on to your face and sprint jump, in case either of them see this thread.

Thanks for the tip, it was simply knock for me also. I disabled it and game was good to go for me.  Wish I had checked the message board hours ago.

I am doing a modding session today and I test to start my skse64 from my MO2 every hour, but suddenly now SKSE64 and NORMAL SKYRIM SE doesn't seem to start at all from MO2, anyone else having this issue? And no I haven't reached my plugin limit. I have disabled simple knock but its still doesn't even start up at all.

My issue was "simply knock" once I disabled the mod completely, the game would start, even unchecking the .esp in the Plugins was not enough.

I basically, I had the same problem. I had no problem, until I had to upgraded to SKSE 2.0.7, due to Skyrim SE update. Disable all mods (in Mod Plugins) and still could not get the game to run. It would run, in regular game mode, but not in SKSE mode.  I suggest you read everything suggestion and idea here, and update every mod that needs updating. My problem was a mod called... Simple Knock SE. I had to disable the mod, as if one is going to remove it, in the mod section of NEXUS Mod Manager. And, Skyrim SE started without a problem. Updated "Simple Knock SE to 1.0.3" and have no further issues. I hope that this info help someone.
