[LE] custom armor mesh shows gap between legs and boots - how can I fix it?

Hello to all,

I retextured the Vampire armor from the mod Practical Female Armor from JzBay. In game I noticed an annoying gap between the legs and the boots and looked first at the modpage. In the posts someone else got the same problem but no solution.

- I tried to fix that, but I'm not skilled enough to rework meshes. I'm not sure, what's causing this.

- I studied the tutorial of Hanaisse about creating armor for Skyrim to get a glimpse what I'm doing.

- In nifskope I compared all values for the bodyparts with the values in ck, all seem to be right.

- I tried to copy a femalebody branch from the original Vampire Armor into the mesh because I thought perhaps it needs the underlying body. Makes no difference.

- I copied the Vampire Boots into the mesh with Nifskope and in ck removed the separate boots from the outfit, so the boots are in the mesh - no difference.

- I put the separate boots back into the outfit, so they are double: in the armormesh and separate. No difference.

- I removed bodyslot 38 for the calves from the boots - now the pants are clipping through the boots.

I read that gaps could happen if the armor was originally a male armor, but that's not the case.

I want to get this fixed urgently and I'm a noob with blender. Can someone help me with this issue? The armor looks great after retexturing and it would be very sad if I can't use it.

Thank you and greetings.

So this gap only happens when you wear both the boots and body armor and when its only body armor there is no gap? If so then you'd have to edit the partitions in blender, the faces assigned to calves should be covered by the boots since those will be hidden.

The other kind of gap is the pants not reaching the seam between body and feet and not including that piece of body. In this case you'd get a gap above the ankles when equipping only the armor. Solution being adding the piece of body that isnt covered or extending the pants to cover the seam and therefore the gap. But by whst you say i dont think this is your issue.

Thank you for the fast reply. The weird thing is that all looks fine in Nifskope and ck, but not in game. I will try to mess around with blender, my skills there are very limited. I know how to export meshes from Nifskope and import them into blender, but this software drives me crazy.

Yeah in nifskope that's not going to show, in Ck it should if you preview and NPC that has the boots and body armor equipped for example (I think). Haven't used blender for this, only 3dsmax so can't give directions for that.

Another software I haven't used is outfit studio, by its images it seems it can edit body partitions and it's probably more straightforward than blender for this.

By what you've said I think all you'd have to do is change some faces from the calves partition to the body one.
