Wrye Bash wont create dummy masters for me. It just makes a handful, along with a bunch of .bak files for said handful, (like 20 for some).

i really dont want to take item interchange off my load order, so if anyone could toss me their modified Item Interchange - fcom placement.esp file with the better cities changes, Id actually be so grateful..

I'm talking about slangens solution found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/17557?tab=posts

Ok, this may be long...

first, you need to start up Wrye Bash. I assume you use the latest version of Better cities, 5.5.x.

Now select the Item Interchange-Placement plugin you use, and right click on it.

In the submenu, select "File"(at the top) and then "Create Dummy Masters". You will get a prompt.Say yes.

Then, a LOOOT of dummy files are created so that II-Placement has all its Master Files. They are empty, but that does not matter as Oblivion/Tes4Edit only asks for the FILES, not their content.

Now start Tes4Edit, and deselect ALL with the right-click menu. Then select only the placment plugin for load.

After loading is finished, expand the Placement plugin, and its GRUP "Creatures".

You should see a never-ending list of countless creatures II modifies. Now scroll down until the FormIDs (the 8-digit numbers on the left)

start with a "06". The 06 means that the records in question are overriding the ones of the same FormID from the 7th Plugin.

And that is Better Cities, at least for the normal file. If you are using the FCOM file, check the two digits next to "Better Cities Resource.esm" which probably is something like 19/0C. then check for the records in the creatures group STARTING WITH THESE DIGITS.

now select the uppermost of them anmove down through them by pushing the down arrow button again and again.

While doing so, check on the right side if the record in Item interchange is EMPTY. you can identify this by...actually, it pretty obvious, you'll see it yourself.

Delete these records. you will get a prompt, be sure they are the right records by looking at what you have selected.

Also, remove the records in the creatures group whose names are in italics.

These are injected records, and, while they're doing no harm, I suggest you just remove them for the sake of conformity.

Then - SAVE THE PLUGIN.

...OK...I hope you get the instructions/ they are not too simplified for you Pros.

It worked for me, but I had to create a new Bashed Patch file for it to work.NO IDEA WHY.

And with "create" I mean CREATE. not rebuild. delete the old one and create a new one.
