Hey everyone!

I just found out (probably much later than all of you) that Skyrim VR is finally coming to the PC april 3rd. I was curious if anyone is looking into making mods for this version of the game? I know that Bethesda says they are not looking into mod support at the moment BUT I didnt know if maybe it would be easy to retool some existing mods that would allow them to work for this version of Skyrim, I really hope so! If anyone knows anything I would love to hear about it!

Thank you!

Well if Beth has put this indefinitely on the back burner, then what logical purpose would thinking about considering mods be atm?

Besides being premature, nothing would ever happen on the VR platform without port of SKSE64 and SkyUI at minimum. Nevermind having to port other critical mod enabler utilities the likes of LOOT, MO2, Wrye Bash, TES5Edit, Crash Fixes etc etc. Or if the file format to port mod files from the VR PC format differs from the console one, etc etc.

And as a final negative: why would PC gamers--who already have a minimum TWO copies of the game (Oldrim & SSE) and/or possibly 3+ (if they own the console version) want to bother getting yet another copy of the game? Especially since it would be a LONG time before any mod support would come available for the VR platform in the future? Assuming Bethesda decides it's worth their effort to get off their buts and make the VR platform mod friendly in the first place?

IMO, this isn't likely to happen anytime in the future. Odds are Bethesda has moved on to the next TES VI or Fallout. They might even surprise the fan base community with a unforseen home run with a Dishonored or Wolfstein game during the interim to next release of these blockbuster titles.

It is very much confirmed for April 3rd, check the steam website. As for being premature, I was just asking considering the game has been confirmed and not knowing much about the differences between the way the VR version will handle files and item IDs I didn’t know if it was possible that the basic principles of

Modding would be the same , at least for things like custom weapons, armor, etc. maybe not adjusting physics or graphics but I just thought I’d come here and ask. Forgive me if my ignorance offends or annoys you, I’m just excited as I have been waiting for this since they first announced Skyrim VR for the ps4 I was hoping they would eventually bring it to the PC.

Personally I'm super excited for SkyrimVR, despite having a solid 600 hours and having tried hundreds of different mods. I don't really get everyone who says there are too many versions of Skyrim already, because every time they try and give me a logical argument my mind just replaces it with "yeah buts in VR". Honestly if its at all possible to be modded people will get it working, but I'm not really sure how much bethesda's changed.
