Hey guys,

I watched the movie Wind River a few days ago with my girlfriend. It's a pretty good movie in my opinion, but I'm most intrigued by the rifle that Cory (one of the protagonists) used. The weapon was a Marlin 1895SBL and it is a BEAUT! Long story short, I think it would make a wonderful addition to the game. If you don't want to read about the gun, just look at the images further below.

Anyways, I did some research to see if it was possible to use the base model of the lever-action rifle in Fallout 4 to go off of. From an article, I read that the rifle in the movie is for a lefty. This is perfect considering the animations are on the left anyways. Also, the bullet holder is on the stock as well. The only thing that really needs to be done is a retexture...

However, I do not have the capability or the skills required to do such a thing. Thus, I am reaching out to you in search of more people that would like to see a retexture of the lever-action rifle that is polished steel and black trim/detail. Not only would I like to possibly use it in one of my quest mods in the future, but I really do enjoy using the lever-action rifle.

Below are the images that I found for the Marlin Model 1895SBL.

This picture is obnoxiously large, but I figured it would be perfect for anyone who wants to actually do the retexture of the rifle. Also, maybe someone wants to edit the actual model?

2nding this.

I also just posted a thread about Lever Actions and would very much enjoy this as well.

I read your post earlier. Definitely going to try and get this to happen and see if we can't get someone to do a sort of "redux" mod for the lever-action rifle.

That would honestly be fantastic. I could, in theory, make new texture(s) for it at the very least but I don't know how to make a texture swap.

The existing lever action is already a mix of different 1895 models. The G and GBL I think. All you really need is a retexture, though I would use a better picture, that one doesn't show the true colors very well.

That seems close to the movie one, though it's hard to tell from the screencaps I saw.

Fun fact, apparently the one used in Wind River and the one used in Jurassic World MIGHT be the same gun.

hessikin, if you want to make the texture I can either walk you through making a texture swap or just make one. That's assuming we want an optional swap and not just a replacement.

I'd love to learn how to make textures. I'm a graphic designer by trade so I have much experience with Creative Suite. I was thinking it be great to be able to swap textures in the workbench, if that is a possibility.

If you guys could throw something together and get us a retexture or texture swap for the lever-action that would be great! Honestly, I didn't really expect anyone to be interested in this, but I'm extremely glad that you guys are

It is certainly a possibility, and a pretty good starter mod. Check your private messages.
