SKSE64 not running properly?

I recorded a video to help showcase my issue, unfortunately, I can't post it here so I will do my best to verbally explain. (if you want to check it out, I can email it. Though it isn't entirely necessary that anyone sees it).

SKSE64 will not open. I have tried to run it through NMM (after removing the 64 from the launcher name), run it by clicking on the launcher.exe, running the launcher.exe as an admin, and done the latter two after returning the .exe to its original name. Every time I run the program, however, SkyrimSE will boot up, load for a few seconds, but crash before any window ever appears. I can even pull up Task Manager and watch as the program opens, holds for a few seconds, then crashes.

As far as I know, running the game with no SKSE64 works, though I have a few mods that depend upon it and I don't want to give them up.

EDIT: Check the date of this being posted (no it is not a joke). This post is NOT addressing SKSE64 not supporting the current version of SSE; That is another issue entirely. This is me asking for help on a seperate issue that arose when I tried to launch SSE with SKSE64, which took place a few days before the update.

Hi have you tried running Loot?

I have not, somehow, but I will and get back to you with the results. Thanks for the reply

EDIT: Nope, didn't work :/

Do you have proper SE plugins installed? If the dll is not written for SE the game cannot load.

As far as I'm aware I do. Explain to me like I'm brand new to the concept of modding; how would I go about checking that.

Skyrim SE updated overnight it seems, the main change I see is that LOOT is no longer showing the main Skyrim files as dirty plugins.

That said I am getting an error starting SKSE64:

You are using a newer version of Skyrim than this version of SKSE64 supports.
If this version just came out, please be patient while we update our code.
In the meantime, please check http://skse.silverlock.org for updates.
Runtime: 1.5.39
SKSE64: 2.0.6
unknown exe

Guess we will just have to wait until the SKSE team updates their code to work with the new runtime as the version online only supports up to 1.5.23 :-(

Thank you Meancharger for posting this! I was just trying to figure out if the issue was affecting others. When you get it working again, I'd love to hear about it - I feel like I had to do something involving file renaming to get SKSE working right with Skyrim SE the last time this happened but I can't remember what. Again, thank you for posting!

I had Steam set to not update. It seems that Steam has taken that option away. So unless you had a saved copy of the previous file you will have to wait for an update to SKSE.
