So, after seeing a few requests, and personally wanting a Tavor rifle in fallout 4, I decided to try my hand at weapon making! but this is my first time modding/ game modelling so I have no idea what im doing!!

If anyone is good at weapon modding etc and wants to help add this awesome weapon to an awesome game, let me know! I have a basic model at the moment and would like to add mods etc in the future if it picks up any interest. Ive put up a screenshot of the model so far!

Ive only handled this weapon in real life a handful of times, so it isnt going to be as accurate as I wanted!

Kudos for trying to make a Tavor.

Making a weapon from scratch and implementing it into the game is a ridiculous amount of work for one person. Just take a look at N7R's mod. You can either spend months doing it entirely by yourself, or get help for the various stages of the pipeline. Know that people judge a mod pitch by how much work is involved. There are thousands of modder's resources by people who only made a single low or high poly model. No baked maps, no textures. Your pitch will gain better traction if you present it with much more bells and whistles like textures, high and low-poly, various weapon mods, etc.

That said, I recommend doing thorough research on the gun. Spend some time looking for good references and if the weapon has multiple versions, get to know the visuals that sets them apart. You'll want to find one very specific model of reference of the Tavor to base your model off of.

While modeling, you'll learn new and better techniques to apply to your workflow. Don't be afraid to delete things and start over. Don't consider any geometry your "baby". The rule of modeling is, if you can make something once, you can make it better the second time. I can't stress enough how important it is to model based on good technique as opposed to fixing old/bad geometry and topology. The faster you adapt new modeling techniques, the more efficient you'll be in creating any shape you desire. In this respect, your choice of weapon isn't the best for a first weapon, because the frame is a single big component which makes modeling iterations a nightmare.
