no text in game and menu of KCD

First of all, the author of "Holy Sepulchre Gear (with standalone version)" have to update his mod for compatibility with game version 1.4.+, because the "text_ui_items.xml" file in localization folder he changed is obsolete (it's for version 1.3.- 1.3.4) and the new one (for versions 1.4+) contains many strings added by developers for new items and other changes in text localization.


Always be sure that the mods you're try to use are correspond to your game version.


If to speak in general, this is the problem with incompatibility of localization files and may be appearing when you try to use mods with the identical changed localization files which overwrite each other.

In your case, mod "Holy Sepulchre Gear (with standalone version)" contains localization file "english_xml.pak" with changed "text_ui_items.xml" file inside.

Check all your installed mods that contents localizaition files and find which of them changes "text_ui_items.xml" file too. Then merge them and the issue will be solved.

Open "localization" folder in "Holy Sepulchre Gear (with standalone version)"
Unpack "english_xml.pak" with 7zip or WinRar, and you'll get modified "text_ui_items.xml" file.
Open "localization" folder in root directory of the game
Backup "english_xml.pak"
Unpack "english_xml.pak" with 7zip or WinRar
Find the "text_ui_items.xml" file there - it is an original
Use Notepad++ to compare modified and original file
-the green lines in navigation bar are the missing lines of the original file
-the red ones are modified lines

that was a helpful tip, i even can replace my own voice for Henry now DD

but i did check both localization files and did compare and modified and nothing changed. still no text in game.

i did get the idea how to fix this problem it's just i don't know where to began

i also installed Save Everywhere mode, but i deleted all the files

there is a pdg.pak in localization i don't know what it is

 

Read the description for mod "Save Everywhere" carefully
Check the COMPATIBILITY section in the bottom of the description:
"Tested and confirmed to be compatible with the recently released game patch 1.3.4 excluding Unlimited Saving mod."
Both of them change the same files, so choose only one you prefer

i wanted to reinstall the game but some said it won't make any difference

I finished one quarter of the game story, maybe more :sad:

You are using the version 1.4.1 as it shown at your screenshot above.
My version is 1.4.2 and I'm not sure there wasn't changes in localization files
Any way
- english_xml.pak for GOLD STANDALONE VERSION for the Holy Gear mod (v1.4.2) - paste into Mods/Holy_Sepulchre_Gear_Gold_v0.8/Localization
- an original english_xml.pak (v1.4.2)
