Morrowind Overhaul problems

I just got Morrowind, haven't played it since Xbox back in the day. I downloaded this mod and it's pretty awesome but I'm having a few problems/issues with it.

First, it was making my game crash a lot. I have no idea why, it seemed to mostly happen when I leave a building (tested in Balmora and Vivec). I tried disabling all the esp's it installed and it still crashed. I reinstalled the game and the overhaul with lower settings and after minimal testing I found that may have fixed it. Just wondering what might be causing the crashes. My computer is less than a month old and I spent almost a grand on it so I doubt it's that my specs are too low.

Second, I'm getting a blue line occasionally flashing across the horizon while I'm outside. It's getting a bit annoying and I'm wondering what's causing it and how to fix it.

And third, I want to get rid of the fps counter in the top left corner and depth of field if possible.

I couldn't even figure out how to post on the forum for the mod because half of it is in Italian. Can anyone help me out?

The issues you are reporting have to do with the version of MGE that you selected during install. The crashing was probably due to the initial version of MGE being incompatible with your GPU. If it was MGEXE, it requires shader 3 support. The blue line is likely because the second time around, you chose the MGE with water foam. This is not the best option, because it causes that blue line and also can slow the game down when facing water.

I suggest you run MGSO Options.exe again, drop *only* the MGE version back to 186 (no foam) or rev 178. When you finish, run the MGEgui.exe and uncheck the tickbox next to "show FPS". If the blue lines don't go away, try lowering your MGE version again. After running the game and making sure the counter and blue lines are gone, you may want to re-run MGSO Options and change some things; leaving your MGE version alone.

Thank you. Took me a while to figure out that there is "show fps" under the .ini tab and "fps counter" under the render state tab. -_- Why are there two different fps counters?

Any idea why I click play on my launcher and it reopens once so I have to click play again before it starts? Or any idea how to turn off the weird visual distortion that makes everything stretch out near the edges of my screen?

Edit: I think the launcher problem may have to do with steam. Maybe when I click the icon it opens the launcher without steam, then when I click play it tries to start the game which opens the launcher through steam? No big deal. Also I'm still having occasional crashes, but they seem to happen mostly when I alt+tab or exit the game.

Alt-tabbing always crashes Morrowind for me. Morrowind probably just wasn't intended to let people do that. It was a real pc-killer when it released, believe it or not.

As for the distortion, you can probably adjust your field of vision in MGE. That's basically how FOV works; you play on a flat screen (most of us do, at least, lol), so to make it so that you can see more than what's directly ahead of you the edges need to look a little distorted since your whole monitor will work a little like a fish-eye lense. I keep mine at 85, and that causes a little of the distortion on my monitor, but it's not too noticeable. On a more square monitor it'll be more noticeable at a high FOV, while on a widescreen monitor it'll be less noticeable to the right and left. If you absolutely need to get rid of the distortion, 75 is the preferred setting for almost unnoticeable distortion without giving you tunnel vision. Failing that, you could drop $6.5k  on one of these. http://www.pcworld.com/article/183208/ostendos_43inch_curved_monitor_the_ultimate_gaming_display.html

I turned my FOV up to 180 once, just for a laugh. It was intense. I was flying around at what looked like 200 miles per hour (but was really only like 0.5 mph), and every time I turned the world rearranged itself.

It may not be relevant to your issue, but Morrowind does have a particular aspect ration it "prefers". Non 4:3 resolutions may have problems; however, mine looks fine on my native 1600X900. Any resolution will be fine in windowed mode, though.
