Power attack suffers very long delay

Hello

I came back to playing SSE recently and that reminded me of particular very annoying thing with power attacks. When I do them, game starts animation for normal attack first until it registers Long Key Press and only then starts power attack. It results in weird cuts in animation and power attack taking longer than probably intended. I tried to find a solution but noone seems bothered about it. Would it be possible to rebind power attacks to different key like it is done in Dark Souls? (macros won't help because you have to send the same key presses anyway).
