Hello! I need help. I also need help with this:
I downloaded a Fallout 4 mod that uses a custom body slider (one that affects the whole body when it increases and decreases) and I would like to edit the proportions of the body slider and replace the contents of the downloaded custom body slider with the edits that I have made (so that the slider will not turn my character into a pair of blimps with a person attached to them).
I am relatively new to Bodyslide and Outfit studio. Upon asking the modder how I would change the body slider he just told me to "edit it in 'Bodyslide'. " ...Not much for me to go off of. In order for the slider to work in-game, one needs to tick off the morph box and batch build under his group only. Does anyone know how to achieve what I'm attempting (with no clue as to what I'm to do)? Please, a step by step breakdown would be a godsend, for certain.
I've been looking through the files: there's a file titled "sliders.json" in Data/F4SE/plugins/F4EE/sliders/CBBE.esp/ In the .json are a many lines like this:
},
{
"name": "$Muscled",
"morph": "Muscled",
"minimum": 0.0,
"maximum": 1.0,
"interval": 0.01,
"gender": 1
(There's one for each slider)
His mod has a .esp file. Does creation kit come into play at any point in this process?
And under the Data/Tools/Bodyslide/SliderGroups/ there is a file: "Muscled.xml", within the SliderSets folder there are many .osp files, and within the ShapeData folder, lots of .osd and .nif files, all associated with outfits that the modder made compatible with his slider group. I don't think that pertains to what I am trying to do, though.
I've looked at lots of different tutorials for outfit studio, but there's nothing about creating, importing and customizing body sliders. T'anks 'o ton!
If you need any other details, do not hesitate to ask. I am determined to learn how to resolve this.

what you need to do is to open up BodySlide , load the body preset , edit the values using the sliders (make sure to open the preview image , to see what you are actually doing) , and afterwards just build it

you may choose to also build the outfits with this body , so that outfits won't look like they change the shape of your body when wearing them

if you still don't understand , feel free to ask , though I would highly recommend watching a tutorial on BodySlide (either on YouTube , or the wiki that you can access through the link in the mod page)

I know how to build presets, but this is a slider. Does it work the same way? Here's a screenshot of the Body Slider https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/116493

so I'm not exactly sure what you are asking here

I mean , you can just use smaller values of the slider , to not cause the body to get so inflated

and if you want the most muscular option to be less so , you can just decrease the maximum value (in the lines you posted in the original post)

but I really think like I'm misunderstanding the question , so if you could please clarify , I will do my best to assist :)

Okay, I'll try my best! Thanks for your patience :happy:

So, the mod that I am using uses multiple .pex files that use the slider----here are images of the files https://www.nexusmods.com/users/52947486?tab=user+images

The mod creates an In-game weight/muscle gain and loss perk system, eating food and exercising triggers the looksmenu to move the slider up and down by increments. The slider (not preset) "SSBBW_Muscled" is a custom slider that the modder, Coldsteelj, created and uses throughout this mod. It is a .tri morph, if I'm not mistaken, and requires the morph box to be ticked off when batch building assigned to the group he made in order for the mod to work.

Because the sliders he made are necessary for the mod to work, and affect multiple parts of the body through a single slider, if I want to reduce a specific part of the body, I need to edit the whole slider so that only that part is reduced and not the other parts that the slider increases and decreases in-game. Even if I start off with the slider at a low percentage, that slider will increase/decrease throughout the game, meaning that the values maintain the proportions of the slider regardless. So, I'm trying to figure out how to edit those values that exist within the custom slider that exists in the bodyslide menu, the sliders.json file, and the .pex files. Coldsteelj told me to edit the slider in Bodyslide, but I'm not sure how.

I'm trying to figure out how one makes a slider (one that goes from 0%-100% like Vanilla FO4 at the bottom of the slider options, and with that knowledge, how to change the pre-existing one that Coldsteelj made.

ohh......

that is beyond my knowledge of Bodyslide , so I can't really provide you with an actual answer unfortunately

however , I would direct you to the wiki (you can find a link in the description of the Bodyslide mod page) , it should have the information required to do what you are trying to
