Fallout New Vegas crashing on startup

Please help! After win 10 update (3.6.2018) fallout new vegas crashes on startup. It just displays "failed to initialize renderer Uknown error creating Gamebryo Renderer". Reinstalled the game, updated graphics card drivers, tried finding solution online. Nothing. also mods aren't the issue, because just before the update everything worked just fine, and I didn't install any new mods. Also i think itis a new issue with the update, because every solution i found on internet that used to work doesn't work now. Especially anoying is the fact that i bought the game recently and I have just 8 hours played.

Please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as NVSE and it's related plugins, texture replacements (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX.

Without that info, you get a shotgun approach to possible problems causing that symptom and their solutions. You may very well have a "new issue", in which case it is even more important if we are going to find a solution. If we can narrow down the parameters we can get others involved. Don't get hung up on the "issue title" appearing not to be related. These are things that are known to occur after previous Windows updates or in general. Just give them a try.

* Please see the "Windows Error Messages" section of the wiki "How to read most Bethesda game error logs" article.

* Did you install Steam to it's default location? Windows "updates" notoriously reset file protections under the "C:\Program Files" folder trees.

If so, please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" folder tree was bad (they learned better, and don't do that any more); and why "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. As much of a PITA as that is, it's never going to be any easier than now. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article as well.

* Make sure with the latest 1803 (aka "Redstone 4") update that you run FNV without any compatibility settings for older versions of Windows. This is a change from previous.

* Do you have "New Vegas Stutter Remover" (NVSR) installed? Then please see the 'Issue: CTD after 10-20 minutes of play (post-Win10 2017 FCU)' and 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu' entries in the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

* If you are suddenly having a "slowdown" or lag; or a lack of sound; or problems getting NVSE to load, or really anything new unexpectedly, please see the 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. This may be due to a Windows Update for the "Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities".

* Move any "inactive" plugins out of the game "Data" folder. They count against the "plugin cap" because they get loaded by the game engine if found, and can cause "Missing Master" problems. Please see the wiki "Missing Masters" article if you get that error message.

The following entries in the wiki 'Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting' guide specifically address known Win10 problems:
* 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)'
* 'Issue: Vanilla game Hangs on startup'; specifically "Cause-1" regarding DirectX9 drivers.
* 'Issue: "Full screen mode" exhibits CTDs and stutters or micro-stutters'
* 'Issue: Recent (post-Win10 FCU) CTDs after 10-20 minutes of play'
* 'Issue: Lag or "micro stutters" even with "New Vegas Stutter Remover" installed (or not)'. (Regardless of whether or not NVSR is actualy installed.) In particular "Cause-4" regarding video card settings. The latest video drivers may not be the best suited to an older game like FNV. All vendors drop testing of old games at some point. Backwards compatibility is never guaranteed, much less "optimization".
Also, "Cause-7" regarding "Superfetch" and "File search indexing". Windows updates will often reset these back on.
* 'Issue: Win10 Screen tearing in "Borderless Windowed Mode"'
* 'Issue: ENB Support for Windows versions later than Win7'
* 'Issue: Problems using ENB/SweetFx on Windows 10'

* Otherwise, "startup" has two phases: "before the main menu" and "after choosing to load a saved game". Please see the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

Thanks for reply. I have Fallout New Vegas enplczru version , enchanced shaders neutral enb, nvse, 4 gb patcher, uio, nmcs texture pack, all dlcs, fco, project nevada, more perks, nevada skies, fnv relaistic wasteland lighting, casino heists , steam installed in c:, but game in D: and the game crashes right after launcher. My windows version is 1803.

Last I knew, ENB did not work with any but "vanilla 2.0" shaders. So try without the "Ehanced Shaders" preset. Just disable ENB to begin with and see what happens.

I'm going to assume that list of plugins is in "sort order", but that's why we prefer to the list from LOOT or the Mod Manager's export ability: because then we know by the numbering the exact order. I don't see mention of any of the "game fixers". Please see the 'Towards Game Stability' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

When you say "right after launcher", which launcher are you using? Vanilla "FNV.exe", the N"VSE Launcher" or the FNVLauncher"? If you aren't even getting to the main menu, then it's usually either you are missing a necessary asset file (like the D3D9.DLL specified in the 'Issue: Vanilla game Hangs on startup', "Cause-1" entry of 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

I gave you a list of "bullet pointed" items to check in the first reply to your post. Please confirm you have made all of those checks. In particular I am expecting to hear there is a Windows Event Viewer entry.

that is it. Also it appears that win 10 update not only borke fnv, but also oblivion. And for me enb worked. And I use vanilla launcher, because nvse loader doesn't work because of enplczru version of fnv.

As pointed out, your "load order" is not sorted correctly. Please see the 'Maximizing use of memory', 'Third Rule: The Rule of One', 'Essentials for Getting Started', 'Vanilla "Load Order"', 'Game INI files', and 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' entries in the 'First Timer Advice' section and the 'Common Game Problems' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

For the problem with NVSE, please see the 'Issue: NVSE - Regional Non-English language version of the game won't load NVSE' entry in the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. That is essential for NVAC, NVSR, and many other mods.

Let's see what problems (if any) remain after applying those solutions.

Ok so i checked and fixing nvse didn't make the game work. I removed enbhost.exe which I assumed would make enb stop working. Same error. I think it also isn't mod compatibility issue, because game worked fine just before the update and I haven't installed any new mods before win 10 update. It has to be something (I guess) more serious. 1803 broke FNV, Oblivion on my computer so it has to be something different. Only Oblivion doesn't display any error message. I tested and only games that after 1803 didn't work were these two games. Fallout 4 and skirym worked fine. i think it has to be something about gambryo engine, because oblivion also uses this engine, but f4 and skyrim use newer engine. I don't know what to do anymore. At the same time I'm afraid It can turn out to be somthing simple and I'm making unnecessary disturbance.
